Coming back from an off-road trip, hauling my trailer. Son half asleep in the passenger seat.

The warning you hear said “Hood ajar, pull over immediately” or something along those lines.

I was confused at first. Hood was fine. Started to pull over, didn’t make it to the shoulder before *pop*.

WTF

The last person to open the hood was me the previous day. We had already driven like an hour on the interstate previously that day, this was our trip back. Hood or hood latch was never touched.

The truck knew something wasn’t right before it popped up which was strange, but good.

Was fine the rest of the drive home after this.

It was not windy at all. Date is backwards on the cam, this was today (Saturday).

Had mine do that after a truck passed in opposite direction with a gust of wind. I don't remember any dash indication.

It happened to me once because I was too gentle on closing the hood. Don't afraid to slam shut the hood to prevent it pop open while driving.

My buddy’s wife bought a new Bronco and had the same thing happen. The hood popped open, flew up, and smashed the windshield. Ford refused to cover any of it.

Well, guess I'll be slamming the hood down on this truck.

Mine did this on the I-10 freeway about 4 months ago. Exactly what yours did. I took it into service and they said the catch for the hood release needed adjustment. They made the adjustment and it hasn’t happened again, yet. I do watch the front of the hood when I’m in the freeway and it seems like it floats a bit when the air pushes upward. I’m just waiting for it to pop again.

This happened to me a couple months ago as well, in my '21 F-150 PowerBoost, after about 30 miles of driving at 70 mph on the interstate. I did not get any early warning dashboard notification, however. Fortunately the secondary latch held until I pulled over.

Thanks guys, glad to hear I’m not alone.

I’ve never had troubles in the past, and on this truck my hood hasn’t ever been floaty. Both of my 13gens were tho, but they never popped open on the highway!

I always do slam it pretty good, guess I’ll add another umph to it. I’ll also check out the adjustment. Thanks guys.

On my 23 502A, I've noticed that the hood wants to float in strong gusts from oncoming semi trucks. Very noticeable on both corners, though you can also push the hood down by hand and see linear movement. I attributed it to the flimsy aluminum material, but never saw this on my 19 F350 (also aluminum) or 2011 F150.

Wasn't aware that was adjustable but worth all of us to take a look I suppose. I have noticed movement in the hood I just assumed it was because of aluminum.

The hood on my wife's Subaru popped open a couple of times until I lubed the heck out of the latch. It was fine after that. Subaru was only a few months old.

Happened to me the day after a fuel up and oil check / washer fluid fill up. I was definitely moving ( right around the speed limit) and wind was gusting hard. I can’t remember if I slammed the hood shut but every time after that I’m not gentle with the hood. The sucker gets slammed from now on.

my hood latch can be pulled and the hood wont pop up
the hood deflector and rubber seal cause it to stick
i have pop my finger under it to pop up on the latch
i cant tell you how many times i have pulled the release by accident

good thing it just popped to the latch and not FULL open smash

Same thing happened to me today. Driving 67 mph and meet a truck in the opposite lane going opposite direction. Hood popped up and giant red box warning showed up hood ajar.
