'23 KR Powerboost-If I remove the mat from the bottom of the shift lever stow bin, I see a small access cover with a latch that I assume is made to be opened. Anyone have any thoughts on the purpose of this access? I have looked in the full owners manual and found nothing.

Per Workshop Manual Section 307-05B (Gear Shift Module R&R), under that cover is a bolt which must be accessed to remove the GSM (the console shift lever assembly). There's other trim and fasteners which must be removed, too, of course.

So, nothing that needs to be explained in the Owner's Manual, there are a number of other such fastener covers scattered in the interior trim if one looks close enough.
