Sounds like that El Camino was fast.I hadn’t driven it really in two years and it took almost 20 to accumulate 11,000 miles.
I was building a shed out back and was pretty focused on that when a couple of guys stopped by to see if the 58 Apache in my drive was for sale. My garage was open and they noticed the pair of ElCaminos in there.
Apache was not for sale, so they asked about the 59.
I tossed a rather large number out just to get rid of these guys so I could get back to my project.
Three days later, one of the guys showed up with a literal bag of cash and a trailer.
Since I gave him a number (a bit too low, really), I honored it.
Aired up a tire, fired it up and put it on the trailer.
454HO and a Tremec TKO.
really nice car all around, but not all that ‘city traffic’ friendly.
The car was a bit high strung.
You buy at Cavender's? I am at Red Mc.
I am going to have to drive my 66 sting ray over there and take a photo next to the 66 El Camino. Chevrolet in 1966 had all the beautiful cars, Nova, malibu, sting ray, Impala. El Camino.
I bet that 58 Apache is nice and rare.
