Few years ago, picked up some silicone key fob cover for Mom's crv off of ebay. I thought...why bother. but now that she's had them for these years... I really see the benefit. Protect the key from concrete bounces, and make it much easier to hang onto.
Anyone bought any covers like this recently, and found ones that don't affect the plastic of the fob at all? the company we got the crv ones from apparently doesn't do Ford.

The plastic still rubs against things in your pockets and they tend to get scratches and/or grimy over time. I had a leather one for my previous car and my wife has the rubber ones on her car. I just sold my car and the key fob looked brand new after 3 years.

I bought the following ones and they've been great.

A little difficult to slide in through the top but once it's in it's tight, and doesn't really collect an obscene amount of pocket lint.

I’ll add that to the list of things I’m purchasing for the truck.

I find that these things make it harder to slide the fob in and out of pants pockets. I prefer the smooth OEM plastic. ymmv.
was thinking the same thing. a leather one like @dhrandy mentioned sounds nice, though. gonna look into that

thanks for the replies. gonna try the one Chewza recommended first... if i don't care for it, i can move on. I'm more worried about grip in hand vs getting it in and out of pocket. if that were the issue... the wad of keys attached to the fob would be more of the concern :)
