Just a few different towing pics here. Uhaul was when I was hauling furniture and stuff from DFW to Kentucky. I picked up my uncle's Kubota and stopped by Mellow Mushroom in Somerset, KY for a reward. The tractor is my 53 Ford that I was moving from my garage in the suburbs to my work place climate controlled warehouse. It is going to be my retirement restoration project. At least I got it running after I bought it!

Just curious, as someone who would like to eventually pick up an Airstream, how is the tongue weight? How long is your trailer?
Well that is a long story. I only have 830 lbs on the tongue full loaded and ready to go, but to do that you will notice there is something missing from the tongue in the picture I posted. The full story is detailed in this build thread where I highly modified a 2022 Globetrotter to be easily towed by a 2023 loaded Platinum Powerboost. The actual 4 corner weight and balance is toward the end of the thread.

Well, my tow is a little underwhelming compared to others. But for those that haven’t seen it on other posts; one more time around. It’s a still nicely functional 1976 Bonaire. Original fridge still works and nearly all of the factory brown flowered Hippie curtains.

My 2004 5.3L suburban in October 2021. 34ft coachman apex 293RLDS was just to heavy at 7600 pounds. Now i have a 2021 Powerboost but no pics of it connected to the trailer. Better than 25mph up hill in second gear on the interstate. Sold the Burb January of 2022 and bought the PB in February of 2022, 7 months old with 7000 miles for $55900 out the door. Sticker was $58335, almost new. Oh well, best around town vehicle gets better mileage than my 2019 VR6 VW Atlas.

'96 K1500 Burb. Think it weighs 6-7k, trailer is 2k. Front steel bumper is probably 300 or so.
Ecoboost has plenty of power, but the stock rear suspension struggles. Little sketchy on the highway.

You mean to say the mighty Chevy 5.3L’s 285 horsepower and 320 lb ft wasn’t cutting it? I have never heard such a thing about that BEASTLY engine. It’s wild how far we’ve come with N/A motors, my 5.0L has 90 lb ft more torque at the exact same peak rpm as those era 5.3’s and 115 more horsepower. My dad had one, his last ever Chevy for a longggg time because the door panels kept ripping off and it sucked gas back like nothing else. Drove him over to Ford. He has since went back to GM for his van but still has a Ford F-250. That CRAZY thing is those vans are still gutless piles…..and they still have 285 HP :ROFLMAO:

I drove his 2018 van with the small 5.3 LS motor last week and holy cow it has NO power. My 5.0 with my boat in tow with a full tank of gas and gear feels stronger than his empty van. Maybe some of it is the GM 6-speed. Wildly gutless.

Not too surprising it was a "little sketchy on the highway". The trailer begs for the 'Burb to be a bit farther forward for better weight bias on the trailer, but the F150 suspension didn't like that much on the hitch.

BTDT, there's been times I wished for a WDH on my similar utility trailer.

Glad you found a tolerable compromise and got 'er home safely! (y)
