Boondocking on the beach in Padre Island National Seashore.
What is that surface you have under your trailer and above the sand? 20 years ago I used to go miles and miles down the island with several other 4x4 and we got stuck a LOT but were able to pull each other out. (had to pack gas)

Here she is...

And yes, she can be a lot of fun to drive. Lot of work, too.

Thanks for asking, Sam.

That’s a gorgeous Rolls! Where in our great state of NJ do you reside? Maybe I’ll run into you at a show? I occasionally take my Shelby but she’s not too into static events….she prefers track fun.

She lives in Central New Jersey. The car was built in 1920-21 at the American factory in Springfield, MA and is all American made (but British designed). The body was made in Buffalo, NY by Brunn & Co. The car has its original 6 cylinder, 7 liter engine, which I rebuilt about 15 years ago. The trans is a 4-speed with straight-cut gears (no synchro) so shifting takes some effort and a double clutch. With the right maintenance, she is very driveable and we have driven thousands of miles, reliably, on tour.

Thanks so much for that info! The Springfield factory and RR manufacture in the US for a brief 10 years was news to me but with that 'tip' and google I find all sorts of interesting history related to that. :)

Kudos and congrats on your stewardship of that lovely bit of automotive history. (y)

Sorry for the crappy Pic. Towed this tractor from Texas to Kentucky. Trailer is a PJ CE trailer that weighs around 3500 lbs. Tractor weighs around 4k. I averaged 9.5 mpg averaging around 70 mph.

Finished the southern camping season last month and put her back in storage for the long hot summer. October can't get here soon enough.
