Posted these before...but since you asked...and since its almost lake season....

Originally pulled a 2007 Cobalt 222.

Last season we upgraded to a 2017 Cobalt R5 with a 8.2 Merc Big Block.

The R5 is about 750 - 1,000lbs heavier than the 222. The 3.5 EcoBoost handles them both without much issue.

My dad’s got an MGA, MGB, MGC, just no GT unfortunately. Really cool cars.

maybe if I get some time and money later in life I’ll get a GT and build it similar to a Frontline LE50

Love Colbalt boats! Nice lines and quality construction IMO.

An amazing brand for sure, and really an awesome story of how the company was passed down from father to son. I was born in Kansas and have had the pleasure of touring the factory and meeting the founder.

Sad they sold to Malibu, I understand why they did it, but many argue the quality is not what it once was.

The 2007 we owned was peak cobalt, they were making some amazing boats and quality was super high.

They sold to Malibu in 2018, so I joke the 2017 we bought is the last year cobalt was cobalt. The 2017 is a solid boat but honestly the 2007 was better built.

Other than the normal snowmobile trailer, or utility trailer with some lumber on it from one of the big box stores, here's some fun ones.

Weight wise I could feel it back there, but power wise it was nothing. I actually like hauling the skid loader home from work with my truck more than the gasser 3/4 ton at work, that things always winding out.

'23 Powerboost, barely gets into boost unless I'm really giving it (which I never do when towing anything) or have to start out going up a hill.

Finally pulled the trailer out of storage and pulled it loaded for the first time with the ‘22 Powerboost. Gotta say it was a fantastic experience versus my old ‘12 XLT 5.0.

Used my weigh safe hitch & haven’t tried my WDH yet but expecting even better results when I do.

850 lbs on the tongue and the truck was essentially level (maybe even .5” higher in REAR!) I was contemplating bags in my 2012, doubt it is a necessity on the ‘22. It pulled the 6400lbs with ease. Everything went great except I have to mess with the trailer brake settings or there is something wrong with my controller. Seems to pulse the trailer brakes occasionally under hard braking. Something I never experienced with the ‘12 so doubtful it’s the trailer but I’ll have to check everything.

I was curious if it had anything to do with crossing between regen braking to pad braking?
