I sending my truck in for the heat exchanger issue. I know for a fact that I have a couple silent dtc that are caused by modifications I have made.
Has anyone had problems getting service when the dtc show up on the scan?
One thing I had modified was swapping out a ipma from a different year. It's has some side loaded software.
Will the service guys try to clear the errors by trying to fash as built back on it?
Fdrs has logs when we are messing around. It reports me as the service tech.
Truck is running great. The only active dtc is the exchanger servo.
I'm concerned that some tech wants to be a hero and fix things that don't need fixed.

hmm
my dealer NOPE they dont care and are forscan friendly once i showed the service writer all teh stuff we can do and make better. both of them have f150s and expeditions

silent dtcs .they may try to clear..but as far as changing things, i dont think they would
personally i would give service writer the heads up on dtcs and not to screw with them.
they are there to do service not rat you out ... but you NEVER KNOW

I have had zero issues, in fact they were impressed my crappy XLT had a heated steering wheel activated by the 8" screen

If they are doing maintenance on an item completely unrelated just give them a heads up as Bob is saying above

Just be open and honest with them and should be completely fine. Remember, most techs are motor heads like the rest of us and like to tinker with things, so if they run into someone that is of the same thinking and knows what they are doing, they are going to like you a lot better than the usual "Karen" customer complaining about every little thing and knows nothing.
