Where did it go? I guess it’s gonna be something you have to pay for now.

I received a message on the Ford app-
"The SecuriAlert™ Feature Preview is Ending"

"With the preview of SecuriAlert wrapping up, this feature so no longer be in the app as of May 15, 2023". Blah blah blah.

hopefully all the information ford programmers gathered with the app results in a feature brought back that has all the good it had and all the bugs gone

being able to set it to let you know faster if a door is opened is great, but it has to know if YOU opened the doors with the fob and then shut off until you reset it to be on. i forgot to turn it off all the time and then drive to town only to receive a message the door has been opened??? hmm yep it was me???

i liked having it as a sort of silent tell tale . traveling and all .
sure alarm goes off if truck is smashed open. but having it send you a message when you cant see the truck was nice, like airport parking or hotels etc

we shall see ???

It would be nice to see them introduce some new features in the app rather than take them away. There's a ton of functionality they could offer if they wanted to.

I have a feeling the feedback they were listening to when they decided to pull it was from the dealers. I mostly used Secure Alert as a tell if the service department was lying to me again about working on my truck. They did not like getting called out on it after my truck sat there for a full week before someone actually opened the door to move it inside.

Oddly enough after that resetting the FordPass connection suddenly became the first thing they always had to do when troubleshooting anything. 😅

I would not be surprised that Ford heard some negative dealership feedback about the feature.
And although I wouldn't think that's the sole reason for the decision to pull it rather than refine it, I do think it would possibly be the strongest influence.

Accountability is almost despised in our modern culture.

You have a '23 and your Nav is expiring? I have a '21 and my Nav is active until the end of March '24. When did they decide to cheap out on the Nav trials?

Connected Navigation is 3 months trial on XL and some XLT, it’s 3 years on Lariat and above.

That's a hell of a jump. I didn't realize there was that big of a difference in trial period between trim levels. I just assumed Ford was scaling back again.

Personally I hardly ever use my Nav since Android Auto kicks on and brings up Google Maps automatically.

But back to the topic at hand, my Secure Alert has been missing from my FordPass app for almost 8 months now. I'm surprised anyone else still had to be honest.

There were TWO different navigation packages offered:
"Connected Navigtion" came with a 90 day trial.
"Built-in Connected Navigation" came with a "free three year subscription".
As far as I've been able to tell, that is the ONLY difference.
I don't know for sure, but I don't think it was tied to trim level. my '22 XLT 302A came with Built- In Connected Navigation.
At the end of the three year perod I'll have to decide whether to pay to subscribe.

I believe SecuriAlert as we know it is dead but being resurrected as Ford Insure. The latest FordPass app update has restored the “Safety and Security “ section and Insure is there although it does nothing at this moment.
