Do you think it's worth putting in a screen protector for the 12" screen? I can't imagine what I would be doing in the cab to crack the screen, but there is Murphy's law. I'm thinking about ordering one.

I have heard the matte finish of a protector can improve screen visibility?

Going to wait and see if its even an issue for me first.

It's a plastic screen, so I wouldn't. You may damage the coating if you ever take it off. And it's not like you're going to drop it.

Bought by screen protector off Amazon for less than $15.00 works well

I have the OCDplug matte finish one. It eliminates the fingerprints and glare. Worth the 40 bucks or so for it to me.
Second on the OCDplug screen protector. It's not about it breaking; it's the fingerprint, glare, and scratching. Well worth it, imo

It's easier to see, (I have a matte protector) less glare, no finger prints, and the screen still looks great. If you think it's too dark you can always adjust the screen brightness. I've got it pretty dark and it looks less like a screen and more like just the dash displaying stuff.

I think the biggest case of protection would be screen scratches from dirty hands. Have a bit of dirt or sand on your hands and touch the screen and over time it would be all scratched. My phone is like that, working outside with dirty hands and now my screen has fine scratches in it.

My wife surprised me with an 8 inch glass screen protector for my STX. Can’t even tell it’s on. I’ve got a glass screen protector on my cell phone so why not.
