KC builds seam to be better!
Could be but of the 20+\- trucks I've checked for rust on the dealership lots, it's been a pretty even mix between Dearborn & KC. Both in pristine trucks and rusted ones.

It has to be.

Look at some of these pictures of the rusted parts. There is NO WAY they installed them like that. But they sure as hell SHIPPED them like that!

Yours is bad like mine. Who wants rusted and corroded brake lines, fuel lines, and exhaust system. What else is defective? That is hidden? This is unaceptable and if Ford does not finalize the Buy Back soon the lawyers step in and we know that will not go down well for Ford.

No, that's not mine. Mine is scheduled to be built June 7.

Those are just examples of what people have found on their brand new trucks and what I saw parked on Dealership lots.

But I agree with your point... if that's the rust you CAN see, what rust can't you see?

Yeh my whole undercarriage is fresh and pristine now (04/15/21 build) and I'm gonna try and keep it that way.
Using WD 40 specialist corrosion inhibitor long lasting, carefully on bare metal parts.
Need to use the red straw or it blasts everywhere.
May use Fluid film inside frame rails since I ordered 3 pack with the long tube spray nozzle for that.
We will see how it goes.
Also got 2 cans flat black Rustoleum 4,000 degree Fahrenheit if needed. OCD :)
Pepsi is for the driver, Real magic is for the bass reels. Just sayin.
Just to be complete: I will use Maxima "Suspension Clean" on other components maybe, stuff is great.
We use it on road and dirt karts, helps with clean up between heats, or regular WD-40.
OK, this all may be overkill but hope it helps some of you out..

KC truck. Mine looks similar to Kartracer25's, although I do have a bit of surface rust just starting to begin to form on the front of the pumpkin. Nothing on the suspension components or brake carrier.

This is starting to get frustrating.. I attempted to clean and paint myself, but with no floor jack or ramps it’s incredibly tight under the truck to work. I’m worried about causing damage with the rust remover also.

I’ve contacted a few shops in Houston area, only one of them would do it and wanted $500 to do the job...

Me too, I havent even taken delivery of mine, my dealer already told me they aren't doing anything for the rust. Almost thinking of declining delivery. I would be hesitant on doing it myself with all the brake lines and other stuff that might get eaten by the rust remover.

It depends on who you ask. Like you said - Ford says ignore it. However, about 60% that bought them say ford should fix it, another 15% or so say to ignore it, and the other 25% say that they are skilled enough – and daring/willing enough – to tackle surface rust and small rust spots themselves.

For the folks that haven't bought a F-150 yet - the sales numbers may sway Ford to change their tune in the end and invoke higher spec standards and better QA on part suppliers.

Well, that's my summary of this 64 page topic. :)
My 2021 is leased. This will be the last Ford I ever buy/lease brand new.
I think with a company that has a reputation for building hit or miss vehicles, no one should ever buy from them. If you love the vehicle that much just lease it and if it turns out to be as good as you hoped then you have the option to buy it or just return it without hassle if turned out to be more of a burden.

The only way I would ever get another Ford is if I find a really amazing price on a solid used one that I can throw some money at to make exactly how I want.

With my 2021 build I missed out on some things i wanted(STX Grille, 18” sport rims...) and got some other things I didn’t want at all(rear sliding window, some tech stuff).

If I were to get a solid deal on a used one I would’ve been able to build pretty much a dream truck.
**ALSO, I wouldn’t have got the rookie-grade paint job mine came with. My 2021 is actually very decent and not much complaints but the terrible finish on the two-tone paint still has me feeling a type of way.

I agree. After months of planning my F-150, I just placed an order for a RAM Limited.

It wasn't just the rust and other problems, it was the complete lack of concern that Ford displayed towards its customers. I finally decided I didn't want to give them my money.

Would you recommend using the crc corrosion inhibitor or the fluid film after painting? I know members on here have used both, so I am just asking what you think.

Thought you were going to say nearer 3,000km. Rust aside the shock tube cover is already starting to rub. Normally only happens when been off roading and caught something around the shock absorber.

I'm learning as I go, got lots of good info from forums.
Still trying to read all the labels with phone, freakin tiny print. Need to go to websites. LOL
I would read them first then get at Walmart, AutoZone etc. or order on Amazon (not best for aerosols).
Fluid film seems to be safe to put on after painting.
Says penetrant and lubricant, no solvents, since 1943. I think it has lanolin/wax like stuff in it..
CRC Marine seems similar. That tan color, different smell.
Loctite converts existing rust into paintable surface. So good for some cases.
WD-40 inhibitor is good for bare metal, says not to leave on rubber for extended time so have to be careful, i.e. brake lines.
I'm still reading up before I screw up my clean hardware.
There's always Break Free CLP and Hoppes too. LOL

Yeh I sprayed some Sat. and its hard to get around without putting up on stands but it can be done. Glad I put on safety goggles for some backsplatter and mist though. Need rags maybe brush to spread around hard to spray areas, wipe overspray. Painters tape good idea.
But looks like hose n nozzle on Fluid film can reach anywhere. Haven't tried that one yet.

Anyone one else some got good tips for the solution please add.
I know it sucks having to do this. But I don't mind, its not worth it to me.
