Document with close up photos. Date, and time of photos taken, open case with Ford for sure.Okay so the truck I ordered is at the dealer lot and was told to pick up for April 1st to see if any new promotions will happen.
See below:
What should be my next steps? Document it and open a case file with Ford or just take it as “surface rust” and carry on with life?
Much appreciated. Thanks
You planning on throwing a quick coat of paint on prior if there is small spots of rust? Or just put this right onAfter taking pics of several new trucks rust on a couple lots, researching options, reading posts, discussions with my dealer, local Line-X, Rhino Linings reps and my buddy that lives in snow, about rust, painting, undercoating, etc I agreed to just get this $39.99 pack of fluid film off Amazon, and spray it myself once it arrives. In San Diego/SoCal its usually a non issue, so I'll take what I get, clean it up, spray it down and see how it goes. Will try n post pics etc once it arrives.
You can put Fluid Film on first and that will stop the rust but then if you want to paint it later you’ll have to remove the Fluid Film. To remove the Fluid Film you have to spray it with Simple Green and spray it off with water. You planning on throwing a quick coat of paint on prior if there is small spots of rust? Not sure if one should put anything on the exhaust system do to the high temperature. Is fluid film effective for the exhaust? That is my biggest worry for corrosion.
