Rust on rear end of 2021 F-150 -- any others?

My 2021 showed signs of rust in 4 weeks on the rear axle, sad! Only one snowstorm in those 4 weeks. Ford needs to repaint the axle on a lots of F150’s

As big of an issue this supposedly is, there have been very few people that have decided NOT to buy the truck, and even less that have returned it (if any). If this is such a huge problem to the function of the truck as people are making it seem, why aren't people cancelling orders and buying something else?

I've been waiting to order my truck for months, but this is one of the major reasons I'm seriously considering getting a Ram instead.

So you appear to work for Ford with that comment. So rust and corrosion on brand new vehicles is ok with you, My exhaust system looks like a it came off junk yard stored truck that was sitting for 20 years...not 20 days. I do love the truck and that is why I purchased it. But I did not expect or pay for rusted out POS either!

Huh? I'm saying it's NOT OK, and that Ford's reaction is one of the main reasons I'm considering not getting the F-150 I'd been planning on ordering.

So you had the Bonerific underbody and all it took was a little rain for some rust to appear? That sucks.

If you don’t mind, whenever you get a chance could you please post some pics of what it looks like now with the rust.

I’m in Canada and we’re entering spring so You’ve got me stressing a bit with what’s going to happen to my truck. I thought that if I had the rust free underbody I would be good to go. Guess not.

It just rained here today. When I go pick my truck up on Tuesday I'll take another look to see if the rust set in.

My 10 year old 2010 Ford F-150 Lariat which lived in Miami, FL and never garaged had no rust on it under or in the body, and it rains here, we have hurricanes, tropical storms, and generally some rain almost ever day during the rainy season which is June to Sept./Oc. Brand new 2021 has significant rust and corrosion and we are in the "Dry Season" of course this did not happen on my driveway but at Ford. Looks like they are starting to paint the rear axil now they found out about these issues... but this does not explain the rusted out exhaust system that looks like a 20 year old truck from a Junk Yard.

Holy fudgsicles, if all it took was a little rain to do that then I guess it really is just surface rust and Ford just used shitty parts once again. But this still doesn’t explain how the Cowboy’s exhaust looks antique.

Thanks for sharing those pics so fast. Other than that rust I hope all else is well with your truck
