Step up, they should class it as lemon and replace it with a new truck. Week, month, that's just sad. They ask a good penny for these trucks, and we expect a good product for our money. Ford has to fix their vehicles before they lose a ton of sales. It's only few months in their new luxury trucks. They wouldn't want their sales to tank because of poor products.
If I could take it back, I would. I love the truck but my God the rust under mine is all over. I live in Seattle, no salt on roads and park in garage and have driven it less than 500 miles. WTF?

Here's the thing: I would apply Fluid Film, but I shouldn't have too. I just bought a $70k+ truck. I understand things happen, but they should deal with it, not me. Plus, what about the rust spots on the exhaust, and the rusty exhaust brackets? We can't use Fluid Film on those. I'm waiting to see what sort of resolution other people get, and I'll bring it up myself if/when I need to go to the dealer.

I don't have many for I jump right on the repair, but here are mine. The bottom one I had already started the repair but you can see near the tire where I had not finished yet.

I live in AL so no road salt and this was just days after delivery.

Mine looks about like this. I just smothered it with Fluid Film over the weekend. I’ll clean it later this summer and hit it with some satin paint then re apply the fluid film

I brought my truck to the 2 Ford dealers with my rust issue and both told me it’s normal wear and tear! I am taking for a third opinion and the dealer basically said the same thing. Something needs to be done I have a case open with Ford but I am not hopefully it will go any where. We need to blast them on social media and make it so Ford can’t ignore it’s customers anymore in this issue absolutely ridiculous!

Resale values will tank on these trucks on trade in. They need to give us $5,000 vouchers and we will go away.

How did you knock rust off? and what is fluid film? I'm so pissed at spending $80K to have it look like this!!!!
I did a quick job to get on it quickly spent about an hour on it. I will do a more comprehensive job when I get more time.

Here is a quick before and after. Not perfect, but I got some more rust protection paint where needed and coated most things liberally in fluid film. Between the black armor bed mat and the fluid film, each week as been a new odoriferous adventure.

That looks pretty good. You might consider spraying some fluid film or other protector under there to keep it that way.

Resale won't be affected at all. When they send out a traded truck to the cleanup/reconditioning shop they typically paint the exposed undercarriage as part of the deal. Why give you 5 grand for a one hour "repair"

Yes, some of the pictures posted are excessive for a new truck but the fix is so simple. Many on here tout that you would never take you truck in for an oil change because of numerous reasons from not trusting, easy diy, or whatever. Yet, many are belly aching about a diy that takes less time than an oil change in your driveway. Not worth the effort being exerted. Probably many could have "fixed" their trucks in less time than they've spent on this tread.

I did that. I still think its worth following. My truck with the under carriage fully painted and it rusted through the paint in 2 weeks or less - bit stunning as I am in Texas, not upstate New York. It's worth asking Ford what that is and following the situation.

I definitely agree that people should address it immediately and get control of it, if they can.

This reminds me of years ago when checking into a hotel in Hawaii, they gave us some ant spray with the keys. Ford expecting owners to paint their trucks off the lot is beyond ridiculous. This is really no different than buying a new house with hundreds of drywall cracks inside. While some cracking is normal due to settling, drywall cracks are put on a punch list and covered under warranty. Rust on trucks should be covered as well.
