First 3 pictures are under my eleven-week-old f-150 Limited; second two are under my 16-year-old Expedition. Notice any difference?

Yep, why no rust there, reduces weight too. No leaf springs and independent suspension.

Still, almost no rust on the rest of it.

The beauty of not living in the rust belt! They should build these in the south, that way, when they get shipped around the country they will at least arrive rust free.

Had the truck two weeks in Tx. Powerboost platinum. I thought this was a bit too much rust for a 75k sticker priced truck.

Yours has the same white film on it, along with the rust, as does mine. Thinking it's a road salt problem during transport.

I've gotta unwatch this thing.

I had a few paragraphs that I deleted as it doesn't matter.

Y'all fight the fight if for whatever you think it's worth....

Way back on page 5, I wrote this:

It bears mentioning again, if you are from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania; rust on a new vehicle isn’t out of the ordinary and an accepted reality to everyone who lives there to the point it’s seen as inevitable. The whole area is colloquially referred to as the Rust Belt when talking about politics, I wouldn’t expect anything less.
page 3:

Just imagine how much of a field day the dealership would have on a trade in with that amount of rust?

Whether the rust is superficial or not, it’s not a desirable thing on a new or used vehicle. It’s not going to go away or get better.

In the Southwest, people get pretty spoiled about working on cars, my 2006 truck that I just sold looked brand new underneath, many people won’t even purchase a used truck at any price if there’s any rust on it, knowing what a hassle it can be compared to a rust free vehicle.
The amount of rust acceptable for someone in Southern California will be entirely different from someone living in Detroit.

The resale value of used vehicles is totally different in the Southwest and SoCal. A used 1989 Toyota Tacoma that you would be lucky to get $2K for after rusting through in the Northeast will look brand new and sell for over its original MSRP in California.

NO LIMITS’ truck’s rear axle is ridiculous and looks like the undercarriage of a used vehicle, not a new one. If I saw that, I would think it was being used to tow a boat trailer and he’s been dunking the rear axle in salt water. It’s preposterous to make the claim that ‘all axles rust.’ when, in certain climates in this country; they simply don’t.

That axle looks antique. I feel so bad for you brother. Have you shared those pics with your dealer?

It's really simple ... proper material selection or appropriate surface preparation and coating = no rust. Ford made a choice in their design and failed to hold paint shop accountable for defect at delivery.

Some of these pics make it seem like there was a corrosive sprayed on these parts. Mine has some rust as well. Can’t help but think ?... How in the world does something so new get so rusted so quickly!!!

That is probably dried up road salt brine.
