Yeah, I had some on the axle and shock mount. I sprayed some undercoating on it. I'm i the south so no salt but still didn't like see that on a new truck.Found heavy rust on rear end and some on both shock mounts. Any others out there?
Undercoating doesn't last?Rusty rear end is inevitable for me. I don’t like it but there’s not much I can do.
My undercarriage looked very clean when I picked it up, but that was 2 months ago. I’m afraid to look now.
I’ve actually never tried doing that to be honest. I’m thinking that the salt would eventually win the battle, but I could be wrong about that.Undercoating it doesn't last?
Wow that seems ridiculous for any vehicle these days let alone $75k truck. Can anything be done by Ford?? Or are we all stuck dealing with this on our own?Had the truck two weeks in Tx. Powerboost platinum. I thought this was a bit too much rust for a 75k sticker priced truck.
Yes it was submitted to ford yesterday service said could take a week or two for a response. I'm sure they will address it.Wow that seems ridiculous for any vehicle these days let alone $75k truck. Can anything be done by Ford?? Or are we all stuck dealing with this on our own?
11/20 in Dearborn. It sat out there on ramp for quite a while on the inspection hold.Adam I agree, that seems like pretty heavy rust for a truck in TX. Do you know what the build date was on your truck? I wonder if it was built very early and sat outside in Detroit for months before shipping? Still seems like a bunch of rust though. That would be hard to clean up laying on your back in the garage or driveway.
Good to know they'll address it but just seems like an oversight to not have some sort of protection in those areas. Every truck will rust there eventually, so getting it addressed while under warranty is importantYes it was submitted to ford yesterday service said could take a week or two for a response.
