The story is currently behind a paywall, but it's only $1.00 for 3 months, and Phoebe Howard is covering Ford like "white on rice".

She very accurately reports on the issues of several members of the Forum (I'm one), and checks with several industry consultants and experts, as well as Ford.

Bottom line is: stay tuned. Jim Farley is probably on his phone this morning trying to find out why his cash cow is giving rust issues.

I have had dialogue with her this morning. She did a fantastic job writing this story.
Kudos to you for sharing your story with her.

Just a social media following reporter that has to write a story....

Hardly an automotive journalist

Phoebe has 15+ years experience as a reporter in Arkansas, Iowa and California ~ covering public policy, politics, government regulation and labor union negotiations.

She put a ton of work into this article. Interviewed very well respected automotive experts and has had many great auto articles that helped many buyers and manufacturers getting things right. I'd say she's an expert!

Whatever you say. I'm sure she spent an hour or so whipping up those couple of paragraphs.

Look, if you want to get all in an uproar over a truck go for it. The dealer will hit the area with some rattle can paint and it will have surface rust again in a few months.

It's also that I don't care about having a good looking ride. Because I get under my trucks and hit the visible undercarriage with some Rustoleum right after it warms up in the spring and then once before winter. Suspension and drivetrain get surface rust. If you really get under these trucks and really all vehicles you'll find rusty parts that will never fail from rust.
