Looking to add running boards to my carbonized gray XL supercrew.. realized yesterday mom can't get into my truck. I also have a few neices and nephews who certainly can't get in without running boards, so I think I need to get something. The electric ones are too expensive. I was thinking about these OEM ford ones off ebay for about $200. Are they good quality/design or should I look at aftermarket? If so, any suggestions would be great. TY!

Those looks like what came in my Lariat with the sport appearance package. I don't have any issues with them. I wish there was a third bracket in the middle just for added support, but I have no complaints on them.

I have the OEM ones on mine and they are pretty solid and wouldn't hesitate to put them on again. If I were you I would get the ones from Ebay. That seems like a good price and cheap shipping too.

I recently installed these steps and have been very happy with them, though the price was a bit more than what you are looking at. I wanted Wheel to wheel length and had a hard time finding anything that gave a few extra inches to reach into the bed, these turned out great. I did get new shackle nuts though for the rear most bracket, instructions said to just retorque that nut but I didn't want to reuse that so I got some new nuts from ford parts.

I did the OE take-off 5" ones (with the pointy front end) from a dismantler on ebay for about $180 shipped. They had some scuffs, but they included new Ford nuts for the body side.

I wanted the thinner ones where at most angles you can barely tell they're there. They are a bit thin if you need very sure footing, but with their rubberized surface personally I think they're good.

I pulled off the factory boards and put on the go rhino rb20 set. They add a third bracket which makes the running boards more stable for, and also hang out wider and would protect the truck from lower vehicles door dings.

Look close at all the pics. They say new take off but they have some significant damage.

I went with a “step” type running board.

I felt that running boards were not as functional because the board is mounted relatively close to height of the rocker.

The drop of the step makes getting in and out perfect And has been saving the bolstering on my seat from everyone just sliding out.
