I keep flipping on whether or not to S/C my '22 5.0.

I am very familiar with SC applications as I've built a previous '01 Lightning I once had (pre-kids). Pulleyed, tuned, different SC eventually going turbo.
Also had an '03 HD where I kept stock SC/pulley.

I drive A LOT, average ~30k miles yearly, all 4 seasons.

I flipped all my toys and just have my 5.0 so considering going SC.

What's everyone's experience with the Roush? I've scrapped the Whipple based upon research and my local dealer who does these vehicles saying they've had some Whipple related issues.

Since I drive so much, not sure if going SC is a worthwhile decision. This truck, for once, I do plan on keeping for more than 1 year.

On order ‘22 RCSB.
I have had mine for ~3000 miles with no issues. installed by dealer where i ordered my truck from.
not sure it really matters how many miles you drive in a year. matters more how it’s driven and how it’s taken care of but i’m sure you realize that.
i have had no issues with previous roush supercharged vehicles either.
Customer service has always been helpful and i believe roush does a better job designing and testing than others. could be false, just what i think based on my research.
my vote is to go for it (obviously).
why the hell not? lol

I love it.
shift and shift points are nice. i generally drive in sport mode all the time. holds gear longer but not obnoxious.
very normal driving until you start getting into it.
power is smooth.
all the drive modes are functional (if you care)
cylinder deactivation is standard.

my truck is RCSB 4x4 3.73 gears so it rips

I have a supercrew 3:31 that looks and sounds mean, wanting to be mean too.

I'm waiting on a tune revision back from Livernois to see how I like it. If I'm satisfied enough, I may hold off on the Roush.

But still... A Supercharged 5.0 is just so so tempting

I love mine. Really nothing to complain about my Whipple setup except the high price point lol. If you have better things to spend $10k on, please do. On Dragy, the truck has gone [email protected] (in the 1/8th) and a 3.91s 0-60mph sprint on pump gas. Best in N/A form was a 9.0@79mph in the 1/8th and a 4.65 0-60mph in much much lower DA so it's not really an apples/apples. It did mostly 5.75-5.85 0-60mph dashes. As you can tell just from a data perspective, it's much quicker and that is on the BASE conservative Whipple tune and stock pulley on pump gas (93.)

NO RAGRETS!

Holy cow. Are you saying the block cracked? I realize you said “bursted” but that doesn’t make sense in my mind.
Got any pics?
What does the dealer plan to do?
Any idea what caused it?

In my Lightning days, punching holes or "vented" blocks were somewhat common.
Literally....hole right though the block.

Yeah. i understand what putting a hole in the block means. I read some of his other posts and i can’t tell if his truck still runs or actually blew a rod/piston out the side of the block.
I also had lightnings a harley truck and a previous Roush supercharged truck.

Apparently now that these Whipple's have been out for a couple years on the 2021+ failures are popping up, catalytic converters falling apart and blocking are the issue.

It’s not just whipple. Mine is a Roush and it’s currently at the dealer waiting to have a cat replaced. Also, when you do an online search, there are several stock 2021+ F150s that are also having cat issues, including the Powerboost, 2.7L and 5.0s.

Good data to know. Thank you for that. I guess recall #8 is coming soon.
