It’s been years since I’ve done a custom stereo install so I took my time and did things exactly how I wanted and couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. My truck sounds incredible and I seriously can’t handle how loud it gets at full volume.

Upgrades included:
Sony XS-162ES components in front doors
Sony XS-160ES coax is in rear doors
Sony XM-5ES 5 channel amp (100x4 and 750x1)
JL Audio Stealthbox with two 12” subs
Soundskins for the doors
A lot of dynamat (put a layer on the exterior skin, the interior skin and the backside of the door panels themselves)
All wiring from Knuconceptz (1/0 for power and ground all the way to battery)
NavTV-A2B
A bunch of stuff from @SoundsGoodStereo :
Block off plates for all four doors
Block off plate for oem sub
Half length amp rack
Speaker adapters for all four doors

What did that cost you?
Sony XS-162ES components in front doors - $298 on sale
Sony XS-160ES coax is in rear doors - $119 on sale
Sony XM-5ES 5 channel amp (100x4 and 750x1) - $798 on sale
JL Audio Stealthbox with two 12” subs - $1599
Soundskins for the doors - $329
A lot of dynamat (put a layer on the exterior skin, the interior skin and the backside of the door panels themselves) - $250
All wiring from Knuconceptz (1/0 for power and ground all the way to battery) - $250
NavTV-A2B - $780
A bunch of stuff from @SoundsGoodStereo : $700 total
Block off plates for all four doors
Block off plate for oem sub

Probably another $300 in misc stuff (fuse holder, wire loom, tape, connectors, bus bar)
I did all the work myself, no labor. So probably close to $5,500

Well done. Brings back memories when i used to install/have custom car stereos.

I dont have the unleashed but the sound quality of factory is not too bad (but very much lacking in the bass department).

My model S on the other hand, way too much bass at max vol.

Seriously. You could of put together one hell of an install video!

It would have been NSFW lol.

Honestly I got the majority of the info I needed from the videos that @SoundsGoodStereo have on their site, particularly the idea to drill 1” holes in my cab for the power and ground.

Also must say the guys at NavTV are also awesome I spoke to them a few times and they always were super helpful

Right on! Thanks for that info. Guess it looks like I’m going down that rabbit hole next. The stock stereo sound is turns out to be just too flat. I need some bass!

looks great, nice job. As a Sony dealer, they just released an 8-channel amp which would be able to eliminate using passive x-overs and give more volume. Also Maestro is coming out soon with an A2B box soon with more cost savings. Hope to get our truck done this summer.
