Reserved within first 15 minutes, but dealer just told me I won't get a Lightning until 2023.

My reservation was made very early during the Ford Lightning presentation, but when I contacted my dealership in November, I was told I was 14/667 in the order. Being naïve to this whole process I assumed that because I was in the top 2% of reservations at my large dealership, I would get a 2022 Lightning.
When I found out about dealership prioritizations, I asked if they were going to use them and I was assured, in writing, that they were not. Again, they confirmed I was 14/667 and they said I was in a great position to get a 2022.
Today, I was told that I am 27th in the order and that Ford recently told them they are only allocated "6, maybe 9" 2022 F150 Lightnings.
Granted, this means that even if I were 14th, I likely wouldn't get one. But it's still pretty annoying that I fell down to 27th somehow.
That's pretty disappointing. And it's very disappointing they couldn't have told me anything like this sooner. I bought a 2019 Lariat F150 and a 2020 Expedition from them.
Well, at least I can stop refreshing my Ford account!
My reservation was day 1, and my number is 108173xx

Also, why in the holy hell would Ford give a dealership 25 prioritizations and then only allocate 6 trucks to them? Is Ford basically moving into Internet-Troll territory here?

Most will be receiving a MY23, so you are not alone. Production will start in the fall for those trucks. 15k MY22 are just not that many trucks to go around. Look at the silver lining, you won't be a beta tester with one of the fresh trucks.

Sure sure, but let's go through the math, though. 15,000 is "not that many trucks." Fine. But if they received 200,000 reservations, then 7.5% of them will get MY 2022. I was in the top 2% at my dealership, and now apparently I'm in to top 4%.

Now I understand more about ZEV states and stuff, but still, it's annoying that a crap ton of people who reserved after me are going to get trucks in 2022. I'll probably go grab a Ram 2500 just out of spite. haha

Technically, even 2023 is beta test.

I can relate. I have a very early reservation. But landed at spot #15 after prioritization.

My dealer only expects 1-2 Lightning allocations this year.

Oh well. I'll keep my Rivian reservation and see which comes first. Both vehicles have their list of pros and cons, and I think I'd be happy with either.

I reserved right before the presentation was starting. Was ordering PRO or nothing. Still haven't heard anything from dealer as far as spot in line. Dealer said they would email us with our spot. Still nothing. Such a poor experience.

Welcome to the club. I went from #2 to #26 at my dealership after prioritizations. Good chance they called people near bottom of the list and told them they could get priority if they agreed to some $20k+ markup. But hey they are playing by the Ford rules -- Ford gave them the ability to do priority slots, and dealers are free to mark up as they please.

I know a lot of dealers did the prioritizing crap but people are also jumping ship in droves to new dealers to avoid ADM. you could have been bumped by these people as well.

My dealership told me they wouldn't use prioritizations and they apparently did. That's annoying. Especially when I've been a pretty loyal customer.

Ford is hilarious though. Seriously, giving 25 prioritizations to a dealership and then only giving them 6 MY 2022 allocations, LOL. I'm sure they'll send me some cool stuff in the mail while I wait for 2 years.

Fifteen minutes was really late to the game.

My order is timestamped "created":"2021-05-20T01:31:56+0000" and I'm not likely to get a 2022 and certainly not a pro from the look of it.

Where did you get that timestamp? My email came to me on May 19, 2021 at 7:48 Mountain Time.

And maybe I"m "really late to the game" but I guarantee you I was within the first 15,000 reservations.
