Hello All,

I am new to the forum and it was recommended by some friends to join this group to get some clarity on my truck. I just purchased a Limited 2021 that I absolutly love.

When I purchased the vehicle the dealer ( non- Ford) took the truck to get serviced and to get a recall completed. The sale person mentioned that when picking up the truck from the Ford dealer, that the new owner (me) would need to bring the truck back in for the remaining servicing of the software. This can only be done by the owner.

Can someone please run my VIN, so that I can understand what has been done and what is left for me to do when I take in for servicing.

Thanks in Advance

I see that what I assume is a dealer ran the Bluecruise enabling config program on 6/20. Next time you drive your truck, press your camera button to see if you can use your rear cameras while driving. If that is working and your Bluecruise is working, you're good to go. Based on the updates your truck has received in your recorded OTA history, your truck should have had bluecruise already unless that truck was sent OTA's out of sequence and some updates got skipped.

The last update you got was 4.2.1 back on 4/28. You still need to receive a few more OTA's to be fully up to date, but these updates only prep the truck for future updates, so no need to stress about not having them yet.

By the way, even under warranty, Ford does not pay dealers for the hours it takes to update modules. Good luck getting a dealer to update your truck.

Wow
Thanks for all the information.
I did try the camera while driving and yes it does work.

I had my fingers crossed for the bed scale Even though the window sticker did not say it was an option. I guess I can wish.

Other optionI’m not sure if my truck has is the trailer hookup assist, where it guides the truck to mate receiver and ball. This one not too concerned about but thought it would be cool.

Bed scale isn't something that can be turned on OTA.

The truck guiding trailer to ball is only for 2023 models I believe. You can switch your rear camera to get a down facing view to help with manual backing.

For 2021 Ford called the truck driving under the ball function "Trailer Hitching Assistance." Page 437 in the Version 1 PDF manual and Page 439 in the version 2 PDF manual (download from Ford.com). I think they now call it Pro Trailer Hitch assist.

But on my 2021 hitch assist is somewhere between unreliable and dangerous. Hover over the brake when you use it. It closed the distance nicely from 10-12 feet or so (steering, shifting, accelerating). Then suddenly, and substantially, accelerated as it got about 1.5 feet away. Dented my bumper.

Some have reported using it successfully. I have used it successfully. And I have used it unsuccessfully. Unsuccessful has consequences. As they say... "Your mileage may vary!"

Only reference I could find was Ford video online from April of this year that said it was for 2023 models. Didn't know the names changed. I see it in the manual and was under impression that button only worked with a trailer attached.

OP still can't add scales with just software. I was recently reading threads on that with people trying to add the extra modules involved.

Thx for the feedback
Not really a big deal not having these features but any new features that can be turned on as a surprise are welcomed.
