I've never owned an F150 before my 2021, but I've read about the OEM lug nuts being cheap and swelling overtime, making them difficult to remove. I would also like to replace my current ones with black ones to match the style of my truck. Has anyone replaced their lug nuts previously and found a specific type/brand that was durable? If you got black ones specifically, were you able you able to find ones that didn't scratch/chip easily?

I found these as the cheapest option, but I'm not opposed to spending more if there is a higher quality product out there:

I don't need the special locking ones, it seems like they are not that effective and more of a pain to deal with.

This is not a problem unique to the 2021 model. My 2015 Lariat developed swollen lug nuts and were replaced. I was told that over time, most lug nuts will expand, some more than others. Does not really cause a safety issue, just makes them fit tighter in the lug wrench. The decorative ones “may” expand or swell more that the old ugly steel ones.

This has been an issue for many years. Had to replace swollen nuts (insert joke here) on both my 2103 F150 and 2013 Fusion.

By the time your lug nuts swell up, is it time to inspect the condition of your wheel studs as well?

ive seen the gorilla brand mentioned several times, do they hold up pretty well over the years?
Ive used Gorilla lugs on all of my trucks and cars across the past several years. They are definitely the way to go.

I bought some chrome locking lug nuts on Amazon, they were pitted with rust spots after 1 year.

Thanks for the advice on the Gorilla brand!

Will the lug nuts for the 2015-2020 fit the 2021 ? Would like to hear from someone who has done it.

These are similar to the DP/Gorilla locking lugs that I use and they’ve held up to the impact gun at the dealership over the past two vehicles (tires are rotated at every oil change) yes, I have the dealer swap them upon delivery of the new vehicle
