I led the Off-Camber Crawlers Annual Fall Foliage Trail Ride on October 22nd in the George Washington National Forest where 13 rigs followed me and enjoyed beautiful colors of the Virginia mountains.

Did some Forscan changes today. Added "Trail" mode and 90% charge rate. And cleared some comms codes. Also did the drive through car wash thing.

I'm technologically challenged.....if you increase your tire size or regear, do you need to reset the computer?

Yes, the speedometer will read slower than actual speed with larger tires. If one regears and goes with larger tires it may or may not be needed depending on if the final ratio is different or not. The tire size can be reset with Forscan.

My F-150 tires, gears, and suspension are all stock.

For my 87 Wrangler I just need to swap the speedometer gear in the tail housing. I have a large collection of speedo gears for Jeep... 🤣😂

I'm thinking about spare fuel for long overlanding trips. I have a 20l/5gallon jerry can and other bits.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124305

The winch mount holds the can well but will require a perimeter of welded steel to protect the can.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124333

Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124338

Sits too low and covers the tag.
Another option.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124414
sits higher but still blocks the tag and also hangs out too far.
Third thought.
Weld a receiver tube to the factory receiver bar behind the bumper and cut a square hole in the bumper.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124554

This tube would be behind the bumper.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124637

And the mount would go into the bumper.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124652

The final mounting would be higher and more to the left than in this pic but it's hard to hold and take a picture at the same time.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230106_124718

A Higher mounting point and not blocking the tag. Plus I could still make the mount higher with an extra insert tube welded to the bottom.

Definitely Maybe!

Along with the jerry can racks I will also use the mounts for auxiliary backup lamps. I made a backup lamp adapter from a $16 USCAR 7 pin harness.

Plugged in and tested. Works great!

Gotta pull the bumper and receiver off next. Cut/Weld.

I pulled the bumper/receiver assembly off today. That was easy! Unplug one connector and remove 6 nuts.
Ford F-150 Regular Cab SWB build 20230207_184332

Getting the receiver stripped of the bumper parts was a bit of a PITA. Getting all the retainers squeezed to remove the plastic cover was the worst part.

Was the Fumoto easy to install or did you need an adapter. I was about to pull the trigger on one but there was a notice that it wouldn't work with a plastic drain plug and an adapter may be needed. Do you have the part number that you bought? Thanks.
