Just got off the phone with Ford update support. I called because it seems I have been missing out on nice updates.
I have auto update on, but did not have a schedule on when to receive. We set that up on the call.
She suggested truck have parking brake on and headlights in off position on days selected for updates.
I rarely do either of these. Is it really necessary? Agent couldn't say. She was just reading the checklist.

Those are definitely NOT prerequisites to receive OTA updates. I've received 4 or 5 and never set my parking brake or move the switch from Auto.

Yeah, I didn't think so. I have received several since buying last year.
It just seems I've been missing some. Particularly camera operation upgrade.

I just received my first update (3.5.2) last week. I often park with the brake on, but coincidentally not on the day that the update came through (and never turn the headlights off), so I don’t think that that should effect your chances of a successful update.
