So I put everything back together (and getting the seat back to mate up with the bracket was a pain) but now the seat bottom won't latch down. It will lock down using the locking underseat storage lock, but otherwise it simply hinges up and down without securing itself in the down position. Has anyone else run into that and what did you do?

Both of my rear seats have been like that since I brought it home. I thought it was normal.

I don't think they lock down, only up. My 2018 was the same way.

The rear seats do not latch, unless you have the locking underseat storage, otherwise they have all been gravity mechanisms

DOH! You're right, they only lie down. I don't know why I thought they were supposed to click into place. Thanks

Yea, it's kind of a trial and error 'til you get an idea of how far to raise/lower the seat to get it to lock. Just make sure you don't have the bottom all the way up, let it down a little when you are trying to lock in place.
I'll have to give this a try. It's bad enough it was a pain in the ass to get down and now I can't get it to latch back.

I try putting the pin in the lowest position. It feels like it's trying to latch but just pushes the bar up without a satisfying click.

In order for latch to lock on to pin, the pin will need to be in this area.
