Rear parking light wire - for ambient lighting

Does anyone know if the rear parking light wire runs under the running board under the passenger door?

man’s if so, which wire would it be?

wanting to install ambient lighting that acts more OEM, lights up when it gets dark out, and figured that would be a good wire to splice into.

Been trying to do some research on this, as I am wanting the ambient lighting to be on when I get into the truck at night, and not during the day.

The rear parking lights don't seem to come on until they sense low light levels. So I am wanting to tap into that.

Please correct me if I am wrong about this, but this will allow the lights to be on when I approach the truck, open the door, and stay on while I am driving.

According to the link below, it appears the violet/green wire would be the left rear, and the white/orange would be the right rear.

I am wanting to splice into these wires and not set it up the way they have it intended, because the way they have it set up to plug into the delayed accessory feed (fuse 2 under the passenger dash) would only light up once the car is started.

Would anyone be able to confirm that splicing into either one of these wires would work for ambient lights and have them function as stated above?

I am looking at two different kits sold on f150leds.com or opt-7.com. These would also require me to cut the fuse option off, and splice it into one of the wires stated above.

I'm not 100% sure what wire you need for your application but I found these guys when I was looking for a way to hook a small back up light bar on my 21 f150 xlt and not wanting to splice into my wiring harness. But after talking to them on the phone it sounds like they can make you a harness like this for whatever wire you need to pull power off.
