Rear Driver side Door won’t open from the outside

I can only open it from the inside.

Normally when you pull the door handle from the outside it will lift about an inch away from the door for it to open.

My rear driver side door will only lift about half an inch and will not open at all.

I’ve wiggled it in all different directions and smacked it from all different sides and I’ve tried to do it really fast and really slow. Nothing works.

I can’t get an appointment until the end of next week so I’m hoping someone here has some good news about this being something simple that I can do myself.

I fixed it. Took less than a minute.

When you open the door there is an oval black cap about the size of a quarter that you need to pop out.

You will find something protruding out that will fit a 5 mm socket. Loosen it all the way and the entire handle will pop right off. Put the handle back on and re-tighten that piece all the way. That was it.

i’m not sure what caused this problem but thank cod for making it a super easy fix.

I’ve had this truck for over a year when it happened so it’s really hard to say what could’ve caused it. It just happened out of nowhere

Thanks my man. I don’t mind the criticism. Honesty is the best policy and in all honesty my 2021 model hasn’t had any problems at all, minus the door thing. But there’s really nothing to complain about this truck at all. It’s been a glorious experience so far.
