Brought my 2021 XLT crew short bed in for some recalls and warranty work this morning. Has just over 5K miles. Asked the dealer to take a look at what appears to be a leaking rear diff pinion seal. Was told this was weepage, not leakage, so it cannot be corrected under warranty.

Had a similar claim by FCA on my 2018 JLUR. Is this a new thing? If it is not actually dripping, it's not a problem?

Or is this Ford pushing out an eventual repair so they can keep parts for new builds, rather than repairs. Cannot imagine a pinion seal being a long lead item but who knows. It took my dealer two months to get the three to five rivets to correct the drooping heatshield recall.

GM's did that for years on some cooling lines.... Believe it was the '99-'07 (classic) trucks.

Or power steering lines? Can't recall what it was. Did them a few times and within a few days of being replaced, they start weeping again....

Unfortunate if this is within acceptable tolerances. I already get three wet spots under the rig from exhaust "draining" when warming up.

Driveway is beginning to look like a leopard skin where I park it. Almost as bad as my LR4....but those I expect it on.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

What ever became of this? My last oil change they noted a rear differential weepage.
