Rear Camera bad quality

Had anyone confirmed that there are two different versions of the rear camera? I have a 502A and the Lariat camera is horrible. The quality is really subpar. Did I get a lemon? Can the dealer address this? Aftermarket?

May need an update? An adjustment? I'd certainly bring it to their attention. Mine has a pristine pic.

Try cleaning it, my XLT has decent quality. Otherwise it could be another issue, how is the front camera?

My lariat 502 is terrible also. At night it’s really bad.

Yeah, I will bring it up for sure. I am going in to have assessment on rear rust, I'll compare it then to other models in the line up. I was hoping it was an update. It really does look like a camera phone from mid 2000's

My Lariat 502A cameras are quite good, however this is quite a subjective rating scale. I wouldn't use them to perform surgery by any means, but the picture is quite clear and I am able to make out objects all around the truck both to the front and rear.

Appreciate the responses. I'll hop in another few trucks at the dealer and compare to see if it's my eyes, or something is actually wrong.

Could you take a photo of what it looks like? It's hard to really gauge what you're talking about in this situation without seeing how your camera looks.

Mine isn't really the highest resolution but it gets the job done.

Mine too on usually the left or right sides. 360 view is worse, but I assume that's where it stitches two togetehr.

I suspect the semi conductor shortage have forced them to start using lower quality components for the cameras. It takes a fairly decent amount of compute horsepower to drive those cameras and it all driven by the exact same chips that are in short supply. I have no evidence of this theory but it would not surprise me one bit.

Interesting. Mine is fine - alot of clarity & vast improvement over my 2016 rear camera.

I found this morning, with a bit of frost or dew on the car it can make it a little blurry through the lens.

Mine is good. Be careful and gentle when you clean it. These cameras have coatings to keep them cleaner.
