Let's just say Ford quality hasn't impressed me too much in 2021. My first truck, a '21 Platinum Powerboost has been in the shop since August waiting on parts. I've declared it a Lemon and look forward to fighting it out with Ford. So, I found a '21 Raptor to replace it. I've never seen such poor quality paint on a new vehicle in my life. The poorest quality is on the fenders. Peeling already with no impact or contact. Anyone else having issues?

The fenders are plastic, embarrassing on a new vehicle but somehow i can see that happening. Does the raptor metal/aluminum body paint also have issues?

Nothing on bumpers like the fenders, but the dark silver specle paint they use just doesn't feel durable. My truck is AMB and there are multiple places where it looks like dust or other particles got under the clearcoat.

I had transmission fluid leaking out of my new Raptor a day or two after I got it. I had to have it towed back to the dealer which was an hour away. Truck got towed on a Friday and I got it back Monday evening. Seeing as how it was over a weekend was a big inconvenience. Unfortunately, things happen. Hopefully everything gets resolved for you.

I am considering the same thing. I like the almost hands free lane centering. I can’t tell if it is available on the Raptor. Do you know?

All the driving assist features from the standard F150 are available on the Raptor. The Raptor also includes the Blue Cruise hardware for fully hands free driving when it is released by Ford.

For a new (or any) engine/transmission, that's a metric crap ton of fluid. That could have been catastrophic if you didn't catch that in time!

Sorry about your issues. I have a 22 Platinum on order and I really hope I don't have any issues. I think spending 40K-80K on a truck, only to have issues is unacceptable. Paint should not be peeling, transmissions should not leak, or rattling door panels, ect. Quality control is something that could help with some of these little issues. I'm hearing of owners that are having mechanical issues as well. I would love to have a lot of the cool options, but I really don't want to have issues. I just ordered my 22 and I'm on the fence about adding the powerboost. Some people are having issues. I know some trucks will have issues but maybe these trucks are getting way too technical. The fact that I have doubts on spending over 70K is a bad thing. I never really had any doubts with my other cars or trucks. I hope Ford takes care of you. Best of luck to you!

This could have been very bad. This was not the only place I noticed it leaked, so there was quite a bit more. There was fluid in the parking lot at work also. It all turned out well though. Dealer had it towed back, fixed it fairly quickly and double checked other things as well. They delivered it back to me when they finished it. No problems since.
