I read a lot here about rake and leveling and it is all over the map with little data and a significant number of real variables usually left out regarding wheelbase, options, typical occupant and cargo loads and other factors. "Hey, I bought an F150 that should be here in 6 months...which leveling kit do I need to make it look good"

I get it, level or something near level looks better to most eyes, whether it is accomplished by raising the front or lowering the back. So, here's my info, probably already posted in parts in 3 different places here but hopefully others can add to it.

2022 Lariat 502, 3.5 Ecoboost, 157WB, Max Tow, Non-FX4, around 1700 lbs payload on the door jam sticker.

Rake as built was around 3.5 inches, rake after a few thousand miles was maybe 3.25 inches, rake after removing the rear blocks was right around 2 inches and looked "right" to me.

Now here's the actual data..

1150 lbs evenly distributed in the bed, no occupants and a full tank of gas brought the truck to within +/- an eighth of an inch to level.

I would think a truck with a 2.5 inch level kit is within an inch of level completely empty. With a few adults in the back and a few cases of Mountain Dew 2 liters in the bed, isn't it running around nose high? Has anyone else measured under load?

With 30 x 38 lb. bags of mulch:

I just picked up my 2022 Lariat. I did before measurements, which confirm yours exactly. I will have after measurements over the next week. Which will be after 34" tires and 2" level. and I plan to load up with my car hauler ~7000 LBS and retake measurements. Stay tuned.

This is what is making hesitate on a 1.75" - 2" level.
I figure I might be nose high towing our travel trailer while having the box loaded for camping.

I think you definately would be. Part of what I hoped would come out of this thread is understanding if those who do a 2.0 or 2.5 level....do they get nose high with a moderate load and it isn't a big deal, or do they not really ever get anywhere near 1000+ pounds of cargo & tongue weight? I have 1.5 leveling spacers that I bought for my 2020 and never installed. If I go bigger on tires once the OEMs wear out I may install them, but if I do the blocks are going back in the rear so my rake stays around 2".

There are some YouTube guys who tested half tons with loads and I remember the f150 got 2” of sag in the back with 1000lbs in the bed. Don’t know if this helps but at least it gives some kind of ballpark figure of what to expect with a load

I'll add my measurements.

SCrew 145", 4x4, 5.0, 502A, Bed Utility Package, Tow Tech, 36gal
7050 GVWR
1690 payload

Front - 37-5/8
Rear - 40-7/8

Intalled what was supposed to be 2.3" level spacers but gave me 2-5/8" lift (confirmed by measuring spacer I got the 2.5" level spacers).

Front - 40-1/4
Rear - 40-3/4

So 1/2" of rake. Also measured a 72" span on the running boards and it was 1/4", so measurements check out.

Looks level or a bit nose high depending on the surface it's sitting on. I don't tow and rarely haul anything very heavy, but I think I'm still going to replace the rear blocks with 2".

I believe there are 4 different rear spring packs for the F150 depending on GVWR, payload and tow packages. So that would play a major part in how much sag 1000lbs would create.

I know they tested two different configurations. I think both were crew cabs with short beds and one was a powerboost but that’s all I remember without looking it up. Both had same measurements though

Here’s a screenshot from the video. My memory was off a little.

I’m glad you started this thread.

I hope more people contribute and please include all suspension changes.

At the moment, I want to do a 2.5 in front, but I want to pair it with a block that will raise the rear 3/4” and the Roadmaster HD setup. I will likely still have a “noticeable” rake, butI doubt it will be near stock rake and I will be surprised if I experience severe squat unless I drop the 1400 lbs of remaining payload I have on the hitch.

I’m glad you mentioned this. Trucks with essentially all the forward rake removed tend to appear visually nose high, even if the tape measure says otherwise.

I have the Fox 2.0 level and got very poor results, only 1 inch, so I have 1.5 rake on my platinum PB w/o max tow. Threw my very tongue heavy trailer on and ended up with 1.5 of negative rake with nothing in the bed. This trailer has about 1300 lbs in front of the axels and 250 behind them. Total weight is only about 3k but the arrangement is way less than ideal and can only change with a larger trailer. I got a weight distribution hitch and now have +.5 or +1 depending on how tight I make it. .5 is a perfect ride so I will only go tighter when I have a bike and other gear in the bed. On my last F150 again w/o max tow, I needed the hitch and 20psi in leveling bags to deal with a 7k trailer. Truck drove amazing. My point is, if you want to take some rake out of your truck for everyday use, there are ways you can still tow without having negative rake.
As for cargo in the bed and no trailer…. The best option would be some air bag helpers. They are fantastic and really help the ride when under load.
I have had 3 trucks with both the hitch and the bags and they were fantastic. I no longer have the big trailer so this truck may not get the air bags after seeing the hitch results. Roadmaster helpers are great but they are not easily tuned to the different loads so they don’t do much under what they are set for. My money is on infinitely adjustable bags if your load’s vary .

Screw 145, fx4, 3.5, plat, max tow, stock tires
Front - 37 - 1/2
Rear - 41 - 1/2

Roush 2.0, 2.5 rear block, airlift bags @ 5#, 295/60r20
Front - 40 - 1/2
Rear - 43 - 1/2

I went this direction to achieve clearance for larger tires and towing large flatbed trailer to the dunes.

My previous truck was leveled with stock rear and had 1" of rake.
Loved the look but hated towing, even when towing a 16' trailer with a rzr had to put air in the bags.

With this setup only have to put air in the bags for heavy trailer.

It looks great as is! I’d hook up my trailer/spec Miata head to the track and spend the $ on more Miata tires! But that’s just me.
