My update failed while on the charger too. I'm thinking it is because the hood is open? Or maybe the SOC is not high enough.

I am going to leave the charger on 2A overnight and then try again in the morning with the hood shut.

In that case, I would try a BMS reset once tf battery is fully charged.

Success! It had* to have been the battery SoC. The overnight schedule update worked while on the charger.

I'll let you guys know if I feel anything different about the drive.

I already manually installed 1.4, I just got a notification that this thing wanted to install it officially. I bet it is the same IPMA version. Is there a way for me to check it quickly without bringing out the foreskin?

Man, the things you can learn from this forum are endless. I purchased a 72 hr license for PTS, and the amount of info available is wild. It looks like the last OTA update sent my way expired before successfully installing, and it shows no OTAs in process. Since we use my truck for all our big drives, getting updated to BC1.4 is a big priority for me, and has me thinking about investing in the tools needed to do my own FDRS updates.

Looking at my software status, it shows 19 different modules with updates available. Am I right to assume that having any of these with available updates would prevent BC 1.4 from getting sent via OTA? I'm trying to weigh the cost (PC laptop, Mongoose, and FDRS license) vs possibly waiting for OTA.

No, not really. Your ADAS modules are up to date...all you need is the IPMA/PSCM updated. However, depending on where you are in terms of your Sync updates, you may still be far away from getting the OTA. Most of those pending updates have nothing to do with BC.

Besides BC 1.4, the powertrain stuff is huge too. The truck stops jerking you around with bad shifting. I really enjoy the way my truck drives now. So definitely weigh those updates vs. waiting for OTA.

Great thread!

I have a 22 PB Platinum and I made the forscan changes about a week ago, thanks to rugedraw. BC was working great with lane change and centering.

I had an IPMA update available, so I updated the other day. That and a couple of other available updates. FDRS took a few hours. Success.

However, with the latest IPMA, Ford made a teeny, tiny little change that they don't tell you about. After the updates, I had to go back in with forscan and redo the BC changes. No problem. But when I went for a ride I kept getting "lane centering not available".

I double checked my forscan changes and I was good. My BC wouldn't engage either. I was pulling my hair out. Until I asked rugedraw and found out that you now need to have your seat belt fastened in order for BC to work!!

I don't always use my seatbelt and sure enough, once I put it on and tried again, everything worked as it should.

Just a little heads up for anyone who may run into the same thing.

Oh, I'm in the early access and I have not been offered the BC 1.4 update yet. Ford really has no rhyme or reason to how they send it out.

Thanks to rugedraw and everyone here for sharing and problem solving. This is a great forum!

Yeah, a long shot but has crossed my mind: this may mitigate people from swapping places with a blowup doll at highway speeds and then watching Harry Potter in the backseat.

This is good to know. I'm working on getting everything I need to be able to do FDRS updates myself. When I get everything updated, will I need to go back into Forscan and remake all the updates I've made in the past?

It depends on how long ago you made your forscan changes. They upload to Ford after a while and become your as built.

The Mach-E/Lightning are even more hungry for those canbus updates. They pull MORE than 40 amps continuously. And the Mach-E has a poor little H3 AGM.

I still use the Clore PL2320 on my Powerboost. But I use a similar power supply to what you posted, except I think it's 50Amps, on the Mach-E
What model 50 amp charger did you use? I’m in the same boat with an F-150 and Mach-e so I figure I should get the stronger charger.
