PSA: Check your fuses for full seating!

Ok... So I just checked my 21 lariat which I purchased february this year. I kept having the radio presets page go from three to two pages every time I restarted the truck. After I pushed in the @ 75% loose fuses under the hood, the presets on the radia have remained... If only I could get the easy seat toggle back to disable the feature Id be golden!

The ones under my hood weren't seated, every one of them pressed down further. The ones in the passenger compartment were fully seated.

I didn't have any noticeable issues but I was already under the hood and decided to check my fuses and all were able to be pushed further in with a click.

Hmmmm....maybe my Blue Cruise fuse is loose.

I checked my fuses in the engine compartment today. None were in danger of falling out, but 46 of them seated in further.

Just picked up a 21 scatpack and noticed that all the fuses needed to pushed in similar to the f150. maybe its a new thing with manufactures

I just checked my fuses and most were not fully seated. I haven't had any problems @1600 miles. So far. Build date of 9/20/21 Dearborn plant.

Cool. I haven't had any issues either though I don't have as many miles yet. Sounds like "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" would apply here.

But preventive measures are worth the effort.

Just checked on mine - most of them still had roughly a millimeter of give left till they were fully seated. Had a press a little bit to get them seated all the way, but all is well now. Thanks OP for pointing this out

Loose electrical connections heat up over time do to increased resistance at the connection and is never a good thing. Throw in getting jostled while traveling. Intermittent electrical functions are the least of the problem .How many fires have been caused by bad electrical connections.

Good observation. My shop has found F150 fuel pump fuses that end up with a bad contact... yes those trucks are flat bedded in.
I forget the years affected.

Found kick panel fuses all seated, under hood all moved a little when pressed down.

Question: Are people also buying a few emergency replacement fuses? Some I saw in the fuse blocks are much smaller than I've seen in the past. Looking in the manual there are 8 types
Micro 2, Micro 3, Maxi, Mini, M Case, J Case, J Case Low Profile, and Slotted M Case.

They seem to be hard to find, I had to order4 "kits" on Amazon to cover most but not all types.
