Primus Trailer Brake Not Working

I have a 2021 F-150 Ecoboost and it did not have factory trailer brakes. The dealership installed the Primus aftermarket trailer brakes. I was towing the camper this past weekend and the trailer brakes were engaging while travelling on flat surface when i was not pressing on the brake pedal and trailer brakes engaging while going up hills. I have read a few threads about the trailer brakes but it looks like those are the factory ones. Does anyone know what could be the problem before I trade the truck in?

I don't have a great answer for you, but why would you trade the truck in versus just taking the aftermarket trailer brake out and putting a factory one in? That seems like a giant headache for something easy to fix. I'd also complain to whoever installed it for you that they sold you a non-functional item.

I was supposed to get the factory one when I bought the truck but they are on backorder and they don't know when they will start making them again.
