When you look at it from thirty feet away, it can still be noticed because the door is at a different angle and it looks a different shade than the rest of the truck.

A car inside the showroom had a similar gap, I pressed on it and it latched shut! That’s how bad the gap is.

With the radio off, above 40mph, you can hear the whistle from the door gap.
Was your dealership specific on how they might go about fixing that?

When all the paperwork was being signed, there was a ’promise to fix’ sheet with a bunch of blank lines, on one of them ‘door gap’ was written.

The customer service specialist called and emailed me about it and I need to get back with them to schedule an appointment. I have been super busy the last few days.

They weren’t specific about the actual remedy for it. Generally, it involves loosening the door attachment points and then they align the door, also moving the striker if required (the chrome loop that keeps the door latched). Mine is off by the same amount all around but sometimes only the window frame portion is off and usually, that involves a block of wood and the bodyman’s own weight as the adjustment method!

That Sucks! Hopefully they get you taken care of. I just did some searching and seems like issues can happen with either plant. I’ve personally never looked that close on delivery, but I guess I should this time.

One of the managers remarked that he sees it pretty often, though how often seems like a relative thing when you see thousands of trucks.

I wonder why it didn’t get adjusted at the factory and wonder how long it takes to put the doors on and if it’s fully automated or just assisted by robots. You would think that to either, it would stick out like a sore thumb.

My truck was KC, I spent 20 minutes looking over the paint on delivery and it was flawless, then the next day I remembered to check the roof and I found one fisheye!

The door gap was so unacceptable, that the dealership didn’t even say anything other than their body shop will fix it.

The other night, I noticed engine condensation dripping from several slip joints in the exhaust. It’s really only supposed to come out of the tailpipe and the weep hole in the muffler.

my Super is the same. It will be going back in a week or two for a proper cleaning and detail, and I will bring it up to them

That bites! What kind of issues have you had? Would be nice to know of things to watch for. Before my F150 days, I had Super Duty’s from KTP, then all my F150’s have been from Dearborn...Will be interesting to see how KC is. I do have to laugh though, why anyone would really care where a new truck is built.
Honestly the concept of it makes me sound ridiculous like I'm some sort of tin foil hat conspiracy theorist about build quality between different plants, but I've had a number of personal and company F-150s build at both plants and my KC trucks have always had fit/finish issues, and my dearborn trucks have all been finished damn near perfectly.

I almost thought these might've been caused from transport damage repair but the truck was dealer traded from another dealer who shipped it to my dealer immediately after PDI so they wouldn't have even had time to repair transport damage significant enough to explain all of this.

If this was actually a truck I owned or was keeping long term I'd have had it all addressed awhile ago, stuff like this drives me nuts being a german car fan. Thankfully this one is a company lease that is going to someone else in the spring and I'll be transferring to personal vehicle usage. I ordered my 2021 with the power running boards so It'll definitely be built in MI.
