I do not understand how the pre-collision warning system works. It decided to go off in the drive thru at McD’s. This is not the first time it has happened. Beeping, warning flashing on the instrument console, dogs and cats living together.

I know in the winter, if I go through deep snow, it happens, and I got to wait it out and let it sit in the run or wash it out. Is it possible you got mud or something under your truck? Could be behind the sensors... I truck was clean otherwise and it took some looking to figure out why. Maybe power wash your under carriage?

You got close to something and it beeped. Probably a bullard. It did what it’s supposed to do.

Happens to me on occasion as well.

Its because you are approaching a vehicle in front of you without brake applied.

I've gotten these recently as well at stop lights when I'm just slowly rolling. I feel like as of lately the front sensors seem to be more sensitive. Maybe something that was affected by one of the OTA's?

Or am I just all up in peoples tailpipes?

Speed is also a factor and if you are slowing down or not. If the drive thru had columns and a turn it would think you were going to run into them.

I guess if going from 0 to 1 mph. I would expect the proximity alarm to go off like it does going into the garage. It sometimes “sees” the corner of my wife’s mustang and just beeps.

Might want to take your truck in to have it checked. Not normal if you were going from 0 to 1 mph and it went off.

One day it may save you from hitting a fixed object. I wish all the other drivers had this (to keep them from hitting me!)

It's warning you not to eat there.

Coincidentally, this happened to me at a McDonald's drive through going 2 mph, too. I remember I had my kids in the car, and my 7 y/o son asked my why did my truck do that, and I didn't have a good answer for him, so I just said idk....the truck thinks I was going to hit the car in front of me. He said: "That's weird" and then buried his face back into his tablet.

I get an occasional collision warning that isn't warranted. In all fairness, I work in auto sales and I've seen many cars from different manufacturers do it, too.

I have found the when in the Chick-fil-A line (not McDonalds:)) that the collision alarm sounding has to do with whether my foot is on the brake pedal. As long as it thinks I am braking it does not give an alarm.
