OK - 2021 PB XLT 4WD, Max tow, 36749miles. of course. Powertrain Malfunction, Reduced power. I have been getting this warning a lot in the past year but now it is constant. I have brought it in for service for this multiple times with no fix. dealer is 5hr drive away.
DTCs in FORscan
P0505 - Idle Control System
P2C43 - Battery Isolation/Voltage Stabilization Control Circuit
U061E - Lost communication with Battery Isolation/Voltage Stabilization Control Module.
Rented a mongoose a bit ago and updated everything. Error persisted.

You don't need a mongoose to read codes. Start w/ the 12v AGM, factory are notorious garbage. Those codes however do sound like it's the isolator itself. That's technically a unique hybrid component and should be covered under the 8yr warranty for "unique hybrid components" which is an ambiguous term, but the isolator is only found in the hybrid. Ford could argue it in court but the judge wouldn't let them wiggle out of an ambiguous but obvious term. Granted it takes about 5 minutes to swap it out and your time and avoiding the dealers ignorance may be worth the $80 part cost.

Did you verify wiring to the isolator? There's already been a failure with one that's shown up on the forum.

Yeah I probably should have done a visual inspection first.....This was a rodent. The 4 wires from wiring harness were all chewed up and disconnected. White/orange, White/green, Brown/purple and light blue. From wiring harness to isolator. Soldered in new pieces of wire, put a new loom on. The rodent had used the battery blanket as a bed. I replaced the isolator since i had been having issues previously with powertrain malfunction after 60+ miles of driving. Have not yet received the batteries but i ordered an h8 and apparently that wont work in the PB. I removed the blanket and dont plan on replacing it

Only DTCs that remain are for the rear speakers. I have replaced all of the speakers and wiring to an amp so ignoring that. I have a drive coming up soon so i will make sure and bring the cable and forscan.

BTW i used the mongoose to run updates on everything so i didnt have to have the dealer do that as a primary measure to diagnose. I just use a standard USB ODBC II connector for forscan. Definitely worth doing things myself if it is mostly that easy. I have a 5 hr drive to dealer then wait and drive back. Not a fun day.

well regarding the issues listed here, this was a rodent issue. I still am having issues with popping a Powertrain Malfunction after driving a long distance. DTC P06EF-00-AF and P06EF-00-6D and P06EF-00-2F. I am going to start a different thread since the rodent issue is resolved. Thanks all!

I was getting the P0A1e code. Prior owner had it. Battery test failed dealer replaced battery. 10k later I’m getting it. Battery test passed, all connections passed. PINPOINT told them to replace the BISG.

I still have my original H7 in that's nearly 3 years old. I didn't take any pics of the isolator when I pulled it out as it was very simple.
