Closest I can attest to is the PowerBoost then immediately the 2.7 EcoBoost back to back at the test drive event. I did drive the 3.5 EcoBoost the day I placed my order though.

How did the 3.5 ecoboost feels compared to powerboost and previous 3.5 ecoboost?

I drove the new (same performance figures as 2020) of the 2.7 at the test drive event. I drove a 2020 3.5 EcoBoost at the dealer the day I placed my order. There was a noticeable, but not overbearing turbo lag. But once it kicked in at a fairly low RPM, hang on! That pretty much convinced me.

Keep in mind the 2021 3.5 EcoBoost is making 25 more horsepower and 30 pound feet of torque that the outgoing 2020 model.

The PowerBoost was very linear with no turbo lag at all. In my opinion you can also notice the difference in torque (570 pound feet versus 400 pound feet in the 2.7).

The PowerBoost only has a 30 horsepower advantage over the newly tuned 3.5 EcoBoost (430 versus 400) that can easily be matched or bested by simple performance upgrades or tunes. The PowerBoost may not be as easy to modify as a gasoline only engine.

It really comes down to what do you want from the powertrain. There are numerous profs and cons for each.
