Ha ha.... Yeah, still putting around in the GMC. ;) Drove it to Ford's Garage (ironic, right?) for lunch today. Met up with a nephew and his son. They just flew in from Dallas.
Sounds really nice šŸ‘

This may have been a weird coincidence but I got that same message on my PB on the 2nd day. I tend to blame electronics first, and the rule for electronics is "have you tried turning it off and on again?".

I turned off the vehicle and stood far away with the remote for about 3 minutes, unlocked with the remote, and then walked back to the truck. It started up fine.

If this happens to any of you, try this and see if it works. If not, then maybe disconnect both the main 12v battery and the one under the rear seat, and try.

I am really curious to see if this "reboot" works or if I just got lucky (for now).

Several have had similar stories. Do nothing for 10-15 min. voila!

What I don't hear, is people jumping it, or using a jump pack and that is very curious to me.

Yep. Charging up my new jump pack now just in case. ;-)

Exact same issue. Randomly the vehicle will not start and the shifter cannot be moved out of park. It’s basically locked up. Dash message is ā€œstop safely nowā€, followed by ā€œfull accessory power activeā€. Vehicle currently has 8,500 miles. This began with less than 1,000 miles at my son’s wedding in Santa Barbara, again at a car wash at 3000 miles, followed by another incident in my driveway, followed by Missoula Montana with approximately 7,000 miles, and now again in Minneapolis Minnesota at 8,500 miles. For absolutely no reason it takes about 1/2 hour for me to be able to restart the vehicle with no real error messages toward tracing the culprit. This morning in Minneapolis it took about 1 hour & 15 minutes before it would start. Originally thought the culprit it was a dealer installed anti theft device. You know, the $5.00 device they charge $450 for. I did not pay for it but they left it on the vehicle. Had it removed thinking that would solve the problem…Nope. Also thought that maybe I was forgetting to turn the vehicle off at the end of a drive when in electric mode etc. But I have been deliberately conscious not to do that and still the problem resurfaced again today. Called Ford corporate to report the issue and confirm whether this problem has existed with other drivers. Told to contact a dealer for service. Called the dealer in Minneapolis and they could not see me for two weeks. This is a brand new truck that I’m driving cross country from California to visit family. This is beyond a mechanical issue, this is a safety issue. How could I possibly hope to drive this vehicle anywhere, especially in a rural area, with the chance that I could be stranded with absolutely no recourse. And the Ford service app is really no help, the average AAA driver isn’t going to know what to do other than tow the vehicle. Honestly, I’m not even sure it can be towed safely in that locked position. This is totally unacceptable and Ford needs to get on this immediately or this thing is going back to the lot. Judging by other posts, dealers, don’t seem to have an answer to the problem.

Good luck taking it back to the dealer. Had less than 3000 miles and it happened 3rd time. Dealer offered to trade it in for another new truck at a 14k loss. Nobody seems to know what the root cause is much less how to fix it. This is the second new ford I bought from this dealership in 4 months needless to say it’s my last ford I’ll buy.

Just a personal opinion.

Smells so much like software.

At minimum, the dealer should offer to replace the battery even if it tests okay. I didn’t have another no start after that and stopped getting the System Off to Save Power messages — but I didn’t keep the truck much longer so who knows. I took a massive loss on it at 2500 miles and bought a Ram.

So far, 5000 blissful miles on the Ram — no more anxiety about whether my truck will start, or windows will roll up without retracting, or CarPlay connecting, or whether remote start will work, or why the gas pedal pulses and vibrates so badly that my foot tingles, or why HVAC was max hot or cold unless using auto.

Ford is an innovator, but as auto manufacturers get more in the weeds with software, they’re going to have to pay Google level salaries if they want to do Google level things.

Had the truck 2 months. Brand new. For the 3rd time I got the error ā€œ Stop Safely Nowā€ and no start. Little battery under rear seat was hot. Battery in engine was hot. Drove to dad’s house no 2 tenths a mile away and started fine. Went to leave and got the errors. Started with app after trying key, remote start and the app after about 15 minutes. No error given on app or dash when it wouldn’t start. I know many others have had this issue but like the first two times there were not any codes given. What have others found to be an issue? My dealer has yet to come up with a solution the first two times and I’m sure when I go there in the morning it will be the same frustrating thing.

Picking mine up on Saturday for same issue 4 times in the 5 weeks of ownership they said ite the relay switches behind the start button. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Please post if that fixes the issue. Hopefully they are correct but I don’t have very much faith they are

I’ve had this happen once when I first got my truck. I had the approach mode on for lighting and extending the running boards.
I was working near the truck for a few hours with the keys in my pocket, that’s when it happened. Since then I’ve turned off the approach mode and the issue has not come back. Currently about to hit 6000 miles.
Something worth a try for those of you that are dealing with this issue.

Going through similar no start issue as many others on this thread. I took delivery of my 2023 Platinum PB on 1/30/23 and twice have encountered this problem. First time 4/6/23 at 3789 miles they replaced the battery and cleared the many codes caused by low voltage. On 7/4/23 8630 miles I found it wouldn't start again so I hooked up a battery charger for 1/2 hr and that got me going. The next day I dropped it off at the dealer and it's been there ever since. I was told they ordered a replacement PCM. Also, had a couple more visits for a catalytic convertor replacement. In the short time I've owned this truck it's been parked at the dealership for about 30 days. Not really excited anymore and I have started the Lemon Law process.

That's the strange thing to me. So far, 7800 wonderful miles on my PB and I'm lovin' it!

If I was paying off karmic debt, I can accept that. But Ford’s anemic customer service was enough to probably keep me away for a very long time. I had a bad Subaru experience once and they (dealer and corporate) went to the end of the earth to make it right.
