I use Eco Idle because I work from my truck often.
It's the BEST work-from-vehicle ever!

I use it; engine runs longer to charge battery when eco idle not set to "on".

At first I turned it on and saw it shoot up to 1.3k RPMs and I thought (eh...it's louder) so I turned it off, but like @Snakebitten I have to sometimes work from my truck and it keeps the truck off longer. In the end I turned it back on because of that.

I've never used it... so basically if I am understanding what you guys are saying... when enabled, the truck idles with higher rpms to charge the battery faster so the engine runs for a shorter period between idling in electric ? If that's the case, I may try it.

For me I only experience the high idle in Park.
So it doesn't seem to apply if/when it would be loading against the torque converter.
I haven't paid that much attention, but I swear it idles higher when driving and the battery is depleted, but I can't be sure so you might be right on this one. I'm still waiting to set up a tablet or something with Torque on it or something to monitor all the goodies :)

I know I've seen it when parked.

It may very well increase the idle rpms in drive, but only by a couple of 100 RPM. You might see 800-900 Rpms at times. But I only see the 1300+rpms in Park.

If you look at the PIDs available in Android Forscan Lite, you will be stunned!
It's insane. I have to STOP myself from putting a big tablet stand in my truck and then build a multipage gauge cluster for monitoring....... Well, you know where I'm going. I think I glanced at about 30 PIDs related to just the high voltage battery.
And the PIDs for the CCD suspension and height sensing? Crazy

Paralysis by analysis. Lol

Yep, that's what it does. ~800 RPM with Eco Idle off, ~1300 with it on. Idles faster to get the battery charged faster.

My truck runs 1000 RPM Eco Idle off and 1300 RPM when eco idle is on. Would the air temperature make a difference in the idle speed to recharge the battery when eco idle is off.

It'll idle faster when its not warmed up too.

I had mine on when I first got the truck. Turned it off for a week or two, and I *think* the mileage dropped a bit. Could just be my imagination, though.

I turned it back on.

Just tested this leaving the office and doing a conf call from the truck for 30min in the parking lot. I like the eco idle. Ran a bit higher, but ran less time and less often maybe too. :)
