Still waiting for my part since April. CEL but no leak; unable to tow in hot temperatures or elevation climbs due to overheating and going into limp mode which has already caused me to scrap two planned vacations. Still empathize for you guys who are without your rig completely though. Received a call yesterday that Ford is considering offering a buyback of my truck; waiting to hear the details, definitely not the preferred path I would like to go. The pro power onboard 7.2kw generator is the reason I bought the truck and is a game changer for camping and boondocking. Cut to the chase - nothing else on the market compares so would be hard pressed to buy something else. Anyway, just thought I would update that it looks like they are considering buyback for the truck, nothing of any technical value to add to the conversation. Good to hear from @McFarly that there was a part redesign and maybe that provides a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel!

I picked up my truck yesterday and as I posted earlier, they diagnosed my leak as being from the thermostat housing. They replaced gaskets and it leaked so they replaced the housing, o-rings, and gaskets on the water pump and thermostat.

Best of luck to you guys waiting on heat exchangers. I hope you get them soon.

I've got your "told dealer" date as 6/4/22 - let me know if that was wrong. Your 1st time to repair was 34 days and your 2nd was 17 days. Still leading with best time to repair is @Deeds972 with 14 days. I think I need to hang out with you guys cause I'm at 112 days with the record wait now.

@Matthyius - let me know if you find your build date (no worries if not).

I called my service advisor on Monday 6/6, he ordered the part while I was on the phone with him and I had it set up with him to drop the truck off Friday when I was back in town for the weekend to start the long wait again and live the loaner life again.

Since then the list of events after that kinda goes like this, next day 6/7 I reached out to an extended family member who had retired at the executive level from Ford for assistance. After I talked with him, the next day 6/8 I got a call from a ford engineering manager, and I talked through the issue with him. Later that day he called me back to tell me he had talked to the engineering team responsible for that part. That's when he told me they were going to send a engineering tech from their office to the dealership with a new part and do the install themselves. The day after on 6/9 I got a call from Fords executive customer support. In that conversation I was able to confirm that an engineering tech was coming out to my dealership and that a new part was going to get picked up directly from the manufacture, since its local to Detroit and drop it off at the dealer. Unfortunately my service advisor had a family emergency that Friday 6/10 and I was unable to swap the truck for a loaner as planned before. The part arrived at the dealer on 6/14, and I dropped my truck off at the dealer that Friday 6/17 with the engineering tech waiting all day for me to get there then immediately taking the truck back and into a hoist before I left in the loaner. Dealership had no power Monday (gotta love the update texts) and then I got a call yesterday on 6/21 that the repair had been completed and a follow up call from Ford executive customer support to confirm the repair was completed and they would call next week to check in. so now I just have to pick the truck back up end of this week and see how long this part will last lol

So, total time without truck during second repair is 7 days, total time since second leak noticed and repair completed 17 days.

Well this is like a bad reunion - sorry to see you here & especially with your planned camping trip this weekend. The non-drivable repairs appear to be a quicker turnaround time, but are much longer than this coming weekend.

It made it the week and around 460 km with no problems so small victory there as well
It looks like Ford customer care is going to give me 3 months payment as well as an 8 year/180000km warranty on the emissions system

I haven't heard back yet but the service manager at the dealer wants to sit down with me again
as well so still have to see where that goes

Thanks - glad to hear Ford and the dealer are looking to be helpful. I edited the sheet above with the Blend date and update.

I'm wondering about putting that potential resolution in the tracker sheet - might help others - thoughts?
