I'm curious as to those of you who tow Travel Trailers - what are you thinking would make your life easier both during the tow and while at a campsite (with power or boondocking)?
This is one of the biggest reasons we decided to get the Hybrid. In fact, I ordered mine yesterday, and can hardly wait to be notified that I've got a VIN. I ordered the Platinum PowerBoost with the 7.2KW option, and we tow an Airstream Basecamp 20X. The Airstream has a 30W shore power connection (120V), and we plan to use the truck to extend our boon docking capabilities, though I'll have to figure out an adapter to go from 30W-240V at the truck to 30W-120V at the Airstream. The good news is that it looks like I've got a few months to wait for the new truck.

He needed an adapter because the device he was using was rated for 50 amps.. The plug on the truck is 30 amp.. So yes, two different type of plugs..

If a device has a 50 amp plug on it, that really means you should not use it in a 30 amp plug/generator.. It is rated to 50 amps for a reason..
i also disagree i have a 30 amp cord on fishing vessel and all over the coast theres different amperage outputs to plug into as long as you have the proper adapter its no problem to go from 20 to 30 amp cord or 15 to 30 amp unless you use to much amperage then obviosly you start blowing breakers

hey just wanted to make sure everyone here talking knows they twist lock plug is 30 dollars at Lowe’s, you would need a few feet of romex or Mc 10/3 w/ground if wiring for RV 50 amp.

An RV 50 Amp Plug is 2 separate legs of 110 volts, so you are only using 2750 watts max on each leg of the pro power 7.2kw.

I made this for my RV. This is the 30amp RV outlet and they cost about 7 dollars.

Wiring the 30 amp plug is easy. But make sure you know what you are doing before wiring up the 50 amp RV outlet.

You can wire 2 separate 30 amp RV outlets or One 50 amp RV outlet using this same 30 amp 240v twist lock plug.

I picked up one of these. There are a few times per year we camp without power. Way better than a screaming generator.

Pete.
