OK, after exchanging PM's with @Ford Motor Company, I received a call from a customer service representative who then connected me with an OTA specialist. She told me that one of the preconditions to the update successfully installing was to have driven the truck for at least 30 minutes continuously prior to initiating the update in the truck (presumably, this is to make sure that the 12v battery is sufficiently charged). So, I went out for a 50 minute drive, got home, set the parking brake, turned off the lights, and initiated the update. Guess what, it worked this time! I had previously tried the update installation immediately after taking the charger off the battery with it having shown 100% charge, but the installation didn't go through then.

There does seem to be some correlation to a long drive.

Covered 200+ miles yesterday (5/7). Shutdown and unloaded. Got back in to move/park the truck and the update showed up on Sync. Had to agree to the update as the truck claimed it would be undriveable for 30 minutes.

Which update? You got 4.3.2?

Amazing those jackasses know about / acknowledge their incompetent (or is it impotent?) battery charging algo and refuse to fix it.
