In all seriousness (I can't even believe my thumb let me type that), 4.2.2 is an OTA that has me, for the first time, NOT happy about OTA being capable of updating my truck while I'm sitting in my recliner completely unaware.

For the last two years I have eagerly looked forward to almost ANY module update of any kind. I started with a 2021 Powerboost that was 20+ updates away from being almost transformed from an unfinished vehicle to much more polished and completed one.
I literally traded in a better truck than I purchased, when this 2022 special order finally arrived.

And admittedly, this first 12 months of the 2022, there have been a combination of a few, not many, FDRS and OTA and Forscan efforts that polished a few edges on it too. But........

This truck is perfect. Everything works so well. It's so complete. Suddenly Ford's autonomous authority to edit/alter/program/delete/etc my truck doesn't seem so exciting. 🤣

I would prefer to have to have an option to approve updates...similar to phone updates. Preferably with a summary of changes BEFORE approving lol.

Does anyone know if this update changed anything with the transmission? Ever since this update, my shifts have been bone-jarring. The 1-3 upshift feels is either a violent clutch drop or a complete power loss. The 7-6 and 7-5 downshifts feel like I'm being rear-ended and a few times have been so harsh that it triggered my ABS.

I've read that these things shift poorly and improve over time. I felt good thinking I got one of the "good ones". Now, with 4,200 miles, it feels like a 21,000 mile rental car transmission.

It's an APIM update

You are hoping for a PCM update.
Not likely to arrive OTA

Brian, Thought is was just my phone messing around, my streaming is skipping as well. I believe it started when I got the cool walk update.
Yeah, that timing sounds about right. Lots of reports of it on here. But I don't know if it's a Sync issue or AA issue. Cool Walk and full screen looks great, but it's certainly been glitchy.

Are you a left foot braker?

You can always reset the transmission adaptives with Forscan and drive around easy. In general if the drivability concerns aren't there after an adaptive reset and only show up once the transmission "learns" then it's usually something the driver is doing that causes it to get out of whack. If it keeps up you can move on to checking fluid level, further diagnostics, etc.

First time today driving the truck more than 15-20 minutes after getting 4.2.2 this week. It seems to have introduced some bugs or something.

I was getting audio glitches and some instances of that static noise, although not nearly as loud, that other have mentioned with the B&O system during a couple two hour drives today. The static noise would stop on its own the several times it did it.

I never had problems like these until today, and the only thing that has changed is that update.

I am hoping to get the update soon now that the 2021’s were released. Feeling a bit left out of the recent updates. Thanks for the heads up!
