Whelp....that was a big swing and a miss.

After a few hours at the dealership, nothing has changed. The app is not letting me Activate the truck. I gave the dealership the TSB I was told to give them by the Ford Pass folks, but the dealership said that they when they checked for anything regarding that TSB, that "nothing was there". The dealership did a complete reset of the TCU, and then supposedly did a reprogramming as well. The TCU appears to be working, and has an address.

Then after some more time, I was then told that problem was that it's a weak signal, and that it's bad coaxial cables that run to the atennas that are problem. They don't have these in stock, and placed an order for them....will call me when they are in.

I'm not sure about all that. I mean, the cables and everything worked fine on the day of pick up, and for several weeks later. Why would a cable, or cables, suddenly go bad? Add to this, swapping out the cables requires them to remove the headliner, etc. Which I'm really not digging the thought of on a truck that's less then 2 months old. And I really didn't understand why they said what they said about the TSB.

I'm going to have to mull this over before I take it back there. Maybe do the batter disconnect, maybe call Ford Pass again, maybe go to another dealer to get a second opinion? I mean, nothing is wrong with the truck, except the app. Do I just forget about the app, versus having them tearing into my truck?
What is your VIN? I do know the 23 has had three updates to correct the FOrdPass issues.

Have you gotten any OTAs recently? I can sent the update manually if need be

I got 4.2.2 this evening. Haven’t noticed anything different as of yet.

The guy that everyone b*&%ches to at work...
Got 4.2.2 yesterday. The only difference I’ve noticed it that the CarPlay screen doesn’t have the black border around it.

An Android truck would never get an update and would be obsolete in two years…. 😂

I was rather disturbed when I started up the truck and discovered the SOC for the Hybrid battery at 35%.

That's well below the 43% threshold for the ICE kicking in to charge the battery.

I immediately opened FordPass and sure enough 4.2.2 was installed a couple of nights ago.

Well that's evidence that the OTA procedure for this update requires a substantial amount of time taxing the 12V battery/system.
And for those with a Powerboost, it's evidence that the OTA procedure enables the DC/DC converter (digital alternator) to run. That's amazing!
That's great, Snake, but is your streaming music skipping yet? 😂

Your comment isn't relevant for any major Android phone for at least the past 4-5 years, possibly even longer than that. Most get monthly or quarterly updates and are supported for at least 3 years. Apple may update phones longer, but they also cut features from working on older devices, so even though you may have an updated old iPhone, it can't do everything a new one can.

It was a joke...although I knew it would get some android fan going.

Also, of course a 3 year old (or older) phone can't do everything a new one can lol.

I find the banter entertaining.
Of course I enjoy oil threads too. So maybe something is wrong with me?
