Anyone getting a white splash screen when you open the driver door after 2.3.0 OTA update ?

So I’ll eventually get it OTA if my 1.7 got stuck?
Also does the 2.3 include the Apple maps in the display etc and the updates that 1.7 offered ?
Yes and it’s improved. You get the same details as you do with built in nav

My dealer took it in and attempted 1.7.1 for a few days for free. Told me it was under warranty as long as less than 36,000 miles.
You’re lucky. Did they get it installed.

Only the IPMA update can help that. The APIM was already capable at a low level. I was able to have cams at speed after the IPMA update with a very old version of SYNC 4
I’m sure you’ve been asked this a ton but, can the dealer update this? Or is it better to do yourself. My truck was built late June but I can’t access the cameras at speed

No it was a few weeks ago before 2.3.0 was in FDRS. So it sat for almost a week while they tried and then asked Ford to replace the APIM. That was denied based on there being a fix coming soon.

So in saying that should I cancel the appointment I have in a couple weeks to get this looked at and just let the OTA do it’s thing with it ? I don’t want to waste their time and mine if it’s gonna update eventually even tho my auto updates can’t be turned on no sync version etc and didn’t get 1.7.
What’s your thoughts ? Just wait and see how it goes ?

This is why a few of us are "taking matters into our own hands".

I'm not suggesting everyone should, but these latest high-tech equipped trucks, especially the Powerboost, are simply beyond the current expertise of the average Ford service department. Early adopter risk!

The good news is that it's NOT rocket science. ?

I can’t really speak for every dealer or every Situation. It’s hard because I know there honestly are dealers that will try their best just theyre not trained or experienced enough.

my OPINION is that you’ll be more frustrated than anything. The time and effort and all involved just to most likely be told they couldn’t do it is not worth it.

the money it costs to buy the parts and software to do it yourself is well worth the investment with these trucks. The updates have proven to be problem solvers and to me that is worth it alone.
You just have to decide if you want to deal with the dealer or sit at home and do it yourself at your own pace. I think the later is the best because it’s easier
