Is it just me or does the final product in these pics not look as good as it should on a brand new truck. I got these from a listing on autotrader.

Unfortunately, the price tag on these trucks makes us all have elevated expectations for perfection. In the end, these are Ford Pickups, not Ford GTs, or even a Lexus. They are still mass produced with lots of hard plastics on the interior that will not always fit perfectly.

What were the issues? At a glance I didn’t see anything.

UPDATE: On the drive selector pic I can tell the 2H button is slightly lower and offset. Nothing on the other two yet.

second pic----the folding bed cover--panels not lined up
third pic-----biggest thing I see is the switch assy. is not centered in the hole.
perhaps the outer panel is not seated right?

First pic the carpet looks crumpled. Last pic that grey/silver plastic where it joins to the right of the start/stop looks shoddy

Sorry I should’ve marked it on the original pics.
I know it seems a bit insignificant but in all honesty I have a rather unsavoury trait of nitpicking these kind of things especially with higher priced purchases.

-That piece on the tonneau cover makes it seem like this may have been an open-box item. It just doesn’t look good on a brand new shiny truck.
-The circled part by the dash controls just looks like that one piece may have been cut a bit short or maybe not pushed in all the way.
-And the carpet just looks poorly installed. The carpet in my current truck is a lot smoother looking than this one. It almost looks like there’s no padding or the carpet is thinner on this one.

Lol sorry dude. It’s actually pretty bad.

That’s a 2021 XLT Sport. The only reason it caught my eye is because I have very similar carpet in my 2018 XLT and not only is mine smoother, upon closer inspection, the one in the picture actually does look thinner/cheaper than mine.

Since I’ve owned a Ford and have been dubiously studying the 2021 F150 since last summer it seems that they have a tendency of spreading themselves way too thin.

I understand it’s all business and you have to pump out as much as you can to maximize profits.
But maybe once in a while, like maybe perhaps when you’re rolling out a very anticipated new model, put a little more effort into the quality control department and shock the world in a more positive light instead of all this crap, big or small, that were all discussing. I know there’s some Ford employees on these forums, definitely more than we know.
I hope one of you slugs reads this and reports that 2021 should be the year that you focus on function and usability instead of coming up with new and exciting ideas that might not even work properly for a little while.

My biggest gripe with Ford is that my 2018 has the frozen door lock issue. An issue that has been around since at least 2011.
And when your loyal customers came to you for help you fought them in court and tried to prove that they were wrong and you didn’t owe them shit.

Personally, the quality issue that catches my eye is a lot of puckering in the leather seats across the models and in many of the posted pictures. You would think the upolestery job would be flawless on these trucks. Here is one example:

I have noticed that a lot too, and am worried about it on my truck. I've seen dealer photos with these issues everywhere in the leather interiors including seat bottoms, seat backs, and steering wheels.

Probably what I’m most worried about so far, since I’ve seen it so frequently....

What is the recourse for puckered leather? Do you not accept the truck?
