Platinum Tailgate Applique Panel

Just had the Trailer tow module replaced this morning because the alarm keeps going off when my trailer is connected. Now i noticed that my Platinum Tailgate Applique Panel is loose at several places. The unsold Plat on the lot is even worse. Guess I'm getting a new one.

I have the same identical problem. I haven’t got it fixed yet.

It's a warranty item. The adhesive has let go. Not a "problem" new to the 14th generation.

I don't know yet what they're worth, but if saving a penny on thinner tape was the plan, it's not panning out. Another 150 Plat still sitting on the lot has the same thing going on, just worse. Then they have a newly delivered 2022 350 Plat with no sign of the Applique tape letting go. Yet..

The replacement applique finally came in after waiting 4 month and has been installed couple days ago. New one has a 11 inch gap top center now. All it's accomplished was the transfer from the ends to the center. Made another appointment for next week. Had Platinums before but for some reason Ford has problems with the 21's. I know I'm not alone with that issue, so why dont Ford come out with a updated part/2way tape that fixed the problem... As is, it's a total waste of time on my part and certainly is for ford as well. UPDATE: They took the cover off the inside of the tailgate to access the clips holding the applique on, as i was told when i asked what they did, and moved the clips holding it around till the got a uniform seal all across. Which makes me wonder why they replaced it in the first place......seems ok now.
