Seriously considering pulling the trigger on one of these. 601A vs 701A, seems like the king ranch has more value between the sunroof and hud. Msrp was $10 different. Don’t care about looks, both are appealing to me. Any thoughts from those who’ve bought or considered either?

Assuming you are talking about a new ‘24, the KR is absolutely the best value. Get all the features of the 702A Platinum at the 701A price.

Yes agree the KR is the value leader. Seems to be more in stock as well

Yeah, I couldn’t believe it when I was building them, I always figured they were two sides of the same coin. KR looks like you get way more for your money.

I came to the same conclusion while I was building my order and ordered the King Ranch last week! :)

If the new King Ranch isn’t an immediate no to many I’m concerned it’s been tamed down too much.

In terms of styling or price? Not an expert on how close a historical kr was to a lariat, but the pricing now is remarkably similar.

The KR styling. I was always under the impression that it came with everything possible inside and powertrain. I think the King Ranch debuted in 2001 and the Platty came on the scene in 2009. The Platinum was a King Ranch for city slickers ;)

The only missing item from the KR, that is in a Platinum is the bed camera inside the CHMSL. I want it, but not enough for me to pay the Platinum tax.

When I looked at the B&P, the KR had chrome and the Plat was blacked out with massaging seats for 2024, but that was my takeaway.

I believe my ‘22 XLT has a bed camera in the CHMSL?!

My last two trucks were Platinums with the moonroof, but when I went to speck out a '24 with the moonroof, you had to step up to the 702A package at a cost of close to $7000. Moonroof was standard on the KR. I wasn't a fan of the two-tone paint (which you used to be able to delete) and cowboy leather interior, but decided for the price I could live with it. I ordered the KR in antimatter blue with the FX4 off-road package and wheel well liners. In hindsight, I wish I had also ordered the max recline seats. The seats in my '24 KR do not seem as comfortable as the ones I had in my '19 platinum. After getting my KR, the cowboy interior is not as obtrusive as I thought it would be and depending on the light, that lower two-tone paint is hardly visible. I'm still getting used to all the additional features and controls, big difference from my '19. When looking at the Ford specs, the 601A KR appeard to be identical to the 702A Platinum, item for item. However, as others have mentioned, the Platinum comes with the 5th bed camera - that is not listed in the Ford specs. Just another oversight by Ford. Might be nice to have, but I've lived without one on my last 4 F150's, so I guess I can live without it on my KR.

Check out my review comparing it to my '19 Platinum
